Hello, I want to buy a 2ds (not the new 3ds xl just the 2ds) mario kart edition for my nephew, I would like to know if the firmware will be 11.3 or below, since installing a CFW for the 11.4 or 11.5 seems to be too complicated.

Thank you!

A new O2DS (Mario Kart edition) will very likely be on 11.3 or lower.

It should be noted that, with the release of ntrboot, installing CFW to an 11.5 system has become easy and only requires the purchase of a compatible DS flashcart for less than $20.

If you buy it new (never opened I mean) then it's guaranteed to be hackable.
I think I'm gonna buy one too, I'm tired of my 3DS and I think the 2DS's form factor is better.

check 3ds.guide to see your options, but in short its either ntrboot, dsiwarehax or a hardmod

So I thought that i was saved since I have a new 3ds xl and a R4i RTS so I tried the ntrboot method but it seems that my card is not exactly what i need because while trying to do the dump it says "supported cartridge not detected".
DSiwarehax is not an option since my 3ds is a new 3ds xl and not an old model. It seems that my only choise is buy a new flashcard.

If you got a new 2ds model the new 3ds will work with it. Its if ya got a old 3ds model that the new 2ds wont work.

  • New 3DS or New 2DS -> New 3DS or New 2DS
  • Old 3DS or Old 2DS -> Old 3DS or Old 2DS
  • Old 3DS or Old 2DS -> New 3DS or New 2DS
so dsiwarehax is no option, either a hardmod or you buy a compatible flashcart

So, 19 days happened since I made my order and I still have this shipping info:

2017-09-08 14:07

International item has left originating country and is en route to Canada

2017-09-06 20:49
International item mailed in originating country

I don't know why another people had the cards in just a week and in my case the card didn't even show in Canada, and I'm leaving the city I am at the end of the month =(.
