The author made a big mistake legally by putting in that auto update titlekeys from internet feature.

Now if it had a feature were it grabs your actual titledb, and places it in a standard spot where it reads from. and then it looks for another titlekeydb on the filesystem in another spot, and if found, copied it over the other one it just copied...

The legitimate purpose of this feature would be to use a titeldb backup form a broken 3ds. :)

and then a separate app was developed that fetched the db from the internet, and then launched the main program...

then we would have the legitimate alternate client that lets you download bought stuff after you got banned, and then we'd have the separate piracy app.

It can probably be done with GM9 scripting...

iirc that is what it did in the past. then peeps complained to cruel about it (since they thought it was inconvenient) and IO and behold, the piracy state of freeShop was born.

and that was the right way to handle it. it wasn't THAT inconvenient. the other issue was that it did NOTHING useful out of the box, without that feature.

Still a violation.

Downloading a .3ds or .cia from elsewhere when you have the cart is still a violation. You do not own that digital copy, you own a physical copy. The copy is infringing, and only permission from the copyright holder can turn an infringing copy into a non infringing one. Only dumping it yourself and destroying the dump when you no longer have the cart is not a copyright violation.

Downloading free apps from the e-shop without an NNID would be another possible use of freeshop that doesn't violate copyright.
well tbh, you probably already broke the law modding your system soo, fuck it, live life to the fullest XD
yes I know it's the most bull shit logic ever but still

I honestly doubt most people care either way
I don't think people care either, but long winded rambles is something I just enjoy creating

What would happen if I were to download something for the New 3DS on a Regular 3DS system?
What happens when you put it in the system

And how it would play using the old3DS's CPU speed

Oh ok, so I guess it wouldn't break an old 3ds if it had new 3ds games on it then.
Nope, but if you keep it in your system too long, Nintendo will go to your house and steal the N on your keyboard.

Also, it doesn't have a different banner thing so if I get it with free shop it'll do weird stuff right?

It will just give you the same message that it can't work on your system.

If you're on this forum claiming not to pirate games you're a goddamn liar and everyone knows it. It's not "OK" to use freeshop. I do it and I'm admitting it! You're just making yourself look like a fool by claiming otherwise. NEXT!

When the hell did I say Freeshop was bad? Are you just looking for Problems or something?
