Installed the EUR version from freeShop on my USA N3DS, crashed every launch, even with the patch. Downloaded and installed the USA .cia with the USA patch, and all works just fine.
I'll gladly admit that the curiosity of watching numerous fuzzballs of the Lagora Tribe enter my Oasis kept me going. That was the only motivation to play this particular game! *sob* *Sob.* They're so cuteeeee.
Online I see an "all" region version of this game and a euro version... is the version with the "J" in the key where you would see a U or E actually region free?
Can it cause issues on a US 3ds?

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.+1 -

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.+1 -
