1st, download unlaunch, run it using Unlaunch itself or memory pit, and then click "Uninstall" 2nd, remove your SD Card then you're done (if you don't want to copy dsiware to SD, which is virtually useless at this point

is this what u do?

Um I want to run hiya cfw and twighlight menu what is the recommended sd card size? Since it won't load if the sd card has more than 2 GB free storage, and I'm thinking about roms and apps how much are there sizes like would 2 GB be enough?

The about 50 DS games I have take 4.4GB dumped as untrimmed, clean ROMs. This includes the very large Pokemon Black/White 1/2.

Use whatever size you want/have:

  • Only FAT16 (small SDs ≤2 GB) and FAT32 are supported. Use 32kb cluster size.
    • SDXC (64GB and up) have to be reformated as they come with mandatory exFAT default file system
  • TWiLight Menu++ starts regardless of how much free space is left.
  • If there is more than 2GB free space fill it with dummy files to get normal Launcher (HiyaCFW/SDNAND) booting without error
  • Some people had trouble when using micro-SD in adapter. Try another adapter if you encounter problems or even better use a full-sized SD

What if I use up the 2gb free space do I have to delete the dummy files to free up space or do they automatically work with changes and delete themselves to free up space < than 2GB

And thx for replying

might need enough readable data to function. I know it was like this with the matrix infinity modchip on the ps2. updating it usually required filling it with dummy data as only a few megs won't be read by the system.

Dummy files are just files. Can be anything: Files full of zeroes. Videos. Ubuntu images. Whatever.

The custom firmware and homebrew apps do not interact with random (dummy) files. The normal system menu "Launcher" just can't handle so much free space (never was intended to use more than the small NAND) and crashes. Filling the SD is just a workaround.

If you run out of space you have to delete unneeded files on your own.

I am following this guide here - https://dsi.cfw.guide/installing-hiyacfw.html and had to stop at step 18 the Hiya 1.3.2 configuration screen. I'm using a 16GB Sandisk card and have less than 2GB free space. It don't matter if I select splash screen or not, every time I reboot my DSi it keep booting to this configuration screen. Why the guide says to change the settings to my liking when I can't find out what I like because it wont boot. This is my first time trying this so I have no liking yet.

I was playing around with my DSii, and if I hold A while turning it on it boots into Unlaunch. I can also launch Twilight from there, so that got installed as well.
