In fact, what do the Magic and SP stats do? And when do they become useful?spiritofcat said:That's how I felt the few times that I tried to play the Wii version.Hachibei said:This game is pretty fun, but the computer players (and the computer itself) are cruel as hell. Once the game gets going and you drop to last place, it's so hard to make it back up. Computer players will step all over you, and the CPU will seem like its plotting against you (ie: summoning monsters to your town, "rigging" fights, etc.) Anyone else feel this way?
With this DS one now though, I had that same experience the first time, but then started again and now I'm actually winning by quite a lot.
There's a bit of strategy required to do well.
Don't travel too far from the castle to begin with because the farther you go, the tougher the mosters are.
Aim to get to the weapon shop as soon as you can, and buy all the best gear.
Put plenty of points into HP, Attack and Defence. Magic and SP are not of much use at the start.
Magic makes your Magic attack more powerful. Useless when you have the all mighty swap. Which could really turn battles the other way around.Hachibei said:In fact, what do the Magic and SP stats do? That pretty much sums up my initial reaction, too. I had wanted to check it out, but when first starting out with it, I wasn't quite sure what I was supposed to be doing. I'm really diggin' it now, but I must say, the AI is full of shit. I'm playing against three AI players set to Weak, and I'm in last place. I know I'm not that bad!
That's not so bad, since everyone is dead and no one can get ahead of everyone else.Zane said:wow.. this game is annoyingly "hard" or i just have really bad luck.
So.. started a game, first turn i manage to move and win a fight, yay.
Second turn, the big monster boss thingy that hovers above a town, casts sleep on all the players, all the CPU players are in combat so they all die and ends up in coffins at the town.
I go "Phew" cus i wasn't in a fight... or so i thought.. guess what, next turn the frikkin boss guy summons me to him, and since i'm still asleep he wtfbbqpwn me to hell and back. Is it always like this, or is this some kind of worst case scenario?
