They don't. It was more like an attempt to lure the 33c3 speakers into a trap, at least imo. They have a bounty specifically for 3DS exploits. So yeah, I would say they care.

A9LH does not give us the ability to sign our own firmware files, which is what I was mostly talking about. And one of my main points was the fact that we could in theory completely create a whole custom FIRM if someone wanted to take the time to do so. Or more probable would be to add our own custom code to add or change functionality of the system. Which can be argued that it could be done with A9LH, but you do have to remember it's limited in space in comparison to being able to directly store changes in FIRM. Plus it's a much more permanent solution to a9lh, and as others have stated opens up hardmod hacks even more.Daily reminder that this was doable ever since arm9loaderhax was released. Primary reason why this hasn't been done is because it would require reimplementing all of the 3DS system services. (For a similar example, see wine.)
The only real advantages sighax provides over A9LH right now is there's no need for OTP and you can make use of the full FIRM partition to store a payload, whereas with A9LH the FIRM partitions must contain the original 3DS firmware.
EDIT: From what I understand, PSP "CFWs" are merely pre-patched versions of the original PSP OS, rather than something written from the ground up. In that case, the difference would be Luma patches the OS on the fly, which is probably a better method anyway because it enables compatibility with multiple versions.
The vulnerability used for hardmod downgrades (known plaintext attack) would work with sighax, so a hardmod can be used to install sighax on any system.
no stopping a9lh will be a big deal, they will need to change so much they will likely release it as 12.0
no console is safe . . . i remember when the ps3 was "100% unhackable !" . . . until geohot spent a single month with one . . .
Delusional much? They don't. It was more like an attempt to lure the 33c3 speakers into a trap, at least imo.
fair enough . . . carry on sir
to quote derrik "rsa the nintendo way" . . . they always fuck up somewhereI always thought that it was funny that every nintendo system has been hacked
FTFY...and, you want them to push an update everytime we tweak a firmware ...?
To the best of my knowledge there is no Virtual Boy flashcard, and nobody has gotten anywhere close to a DSi cfw (and the only DSi flashcard was blocked on the final update)I always thought that it was funny that every nintendo system has been hacked
So if I report some of the stuff to Nintendo on this site when it releases and tell them how it works, I'll get paid? They are literally paying money for someone to report hacks to them. They give a fuck
I guess, yeah. Then there'll be a bounty on your head.So if I report some of the stuff to Nintendo on this site when it releases and tell them how it works, I'll get paid?
Um... What do you mean by a bounty? Will my gbatemp account be banned?I guess, yeah. Then there'll be a bounty on your head.
I meant it in a funny way. If you tell Nintendo about the things that are discussed here, people will not be happy about it xDUm... What do you mean by a bounty? Will my gbatemp account be banned?
