one of the updates seems to have messed a couple of things up for me. for one, I can no longer do disk cleanup. well, I can do it, but no files are deleted. also, searching randomly causes windows explorer to crash.

OK there are numerous things that could be causing the issues and numerous fixes to try. Let's start with the usual way to fix it.

Press and hold the Windows logo key and X button on the keyboard.

From the menu that pops up click (left click) on Command Prompt (Admin)

In the window that appeared type sfc /scannowNext, you will need to follow the instructions that appear on the screen to finish the scan.

Reboot the computer after the SFC scan finished.

Try to run Disk cleanup for Windows 10 again.

If this doesn't work we will try something else.

Yes deleting the temp files should fix the disk cleanup problem. We will fix the other issue once this one is sorted.

Go to Start and type %temp% in the search menu

Hit Enter Right-click on the temp files select Delete

Restart your computer and run Disk Cleanup again to check if this solved the problem.

I did troubleshooting for indexing and search, and it found a problem. it says it fixed it, but it's kinda hard to tell when it's random.

nm, it said search has stopped or was off, but it fixed it. however, when I rebooted the computer, the same issue was happening. it fixed it again. I think it's something in services, but I don't know what it's called.
