Yeah yeah, whatever, EOF because I already know the kind of adults y'all are.

Serious question though: Do you feel like an adult?

Like, you wake up everyday and just do "adult things" (whatever they might be) such as squeezing oranges, working 6 days a week, spending money on bullshit you don't need, or try to enjoy things you loved as a kid in order to feel something reminiscing of that past joy only to realize you don't enjoy doing said things anymore and don't enjoy things in general... oh, and watching mixed race lesbian porn.

OR, do you still feel like a kid, or a teen, or something else you might've felt before?

For me, it's weird, because I do not have the same responsibilities as I had as a kid/teen, but I do not have the responsibilities of an adult, such as taxes, mortgage/rent, kids, a family, etc.
So I don't feel like neither, I'm too old to enjoy things I loved and too old to bother learning new things.

What about you?

I do have to worry about taxes, rent, food, work 6 days a week

At the same time I don't have a pet or kids

It's a bit hard to feel like an adult at home eating strawberries at midnight or playing my N64 but I got a feeling if I had kids of my own I would feel like I grew up (but some doubts even then)

Honestly, not really. My wife and I were talking about this the other day.

I know that I'm objectively an adult and all that, but mentally I still feel quite young. It's like my brain stop keeping track around my early twenties (which I know is still adulthood).

I guess it's because a lot of what I enjoy is steeped in escapism and fantasy, which I reckon 99% of this site can identify with

Even though I'm married with two kids, a career, and a mortgage, I often don't feel like an adult at all. I kind of just feel like I'm masquerading as one and doing all the things an adult is supposed to do.

For me, my brain hasn't "matured" at all since I was 15.
I still maintain the same ideas/beliefs I had when I was that age and nothing has changed mentally since then.

I know where you're coming from. I think my beliefs and values have changed immensely, but the things I enjoy and my general approach to life hasn't. But I think that's important. I'm not dropping shit just because 'it's not what grown ups do'.

In all honesty, politics is not my cup of tea. I don't see the politics area as a welcoming environment. They consist of racists or right-wing individuals who spew nonsense. That's one of the reasons I don't go there very frequently, because it's usually about government corruption, and anything you say will get you into a fight.

I've come to realise just how pointless it is to argue with the hopes of fundamentally changing anybody's beliefs. Correcting wrong information is important but more often than not, people will just dig in and get nasty in the hopes that you'll stop.

Just finished eating and realized that my diet (not recently, but... for over a decade now, if not more) consists in Onion, Garlic, Beans, Rice, Tortillas and Coffee most of the days.

Suddenly, remembered those "bad breath?" bubblegum commercials that depicts adults chewing "Trident" and disappearing Coffee, Cigars, Onions followed by a "bad breath?" slogan of some sort.

And just now I realized how accurate that is!

Minus the cigars, of course, I never liked it.

Like... damn! Am I the only adult with a neverending "bad breath?".

In my defense though... just past week I stopped using a mask everywhere I go. Kinda got used since the Covid days.
