Hacking Do I use .3ds or .3dz for use with Sky3DS?

Hi all,

I'm planning to play Pokemon Alpha Sapphire (EUR), and have my own private header (Animal crossing new leaf) for it. I was just wondering which file format I should be looking to get my game in, for use with Sky3DS? Should I get it in .3ds or .3dz? I believe it's possible to convert between the two?

I have no idea. I have only ever dumped my own cartridges to use with Gateway, and converting them works fine. I have a feeling they have to have headers already to convert easily but I could be wrong.
