The game was alright but I'm pretty certain you'll get tired of the game before you get all the achievements legit. Forgot what they were called probably "Missions."

Basically insane amount of farming and grinding plus replaying story modes of everyone plus shared ones over and over.
Really? ...Sounds like my kind of killing spree!

I'm tired of games that make you think too much - I want one where I can mindlessly barrel around corners with a fully automatic and clear the whole room within seconds in one gory mess.

Fantastic news. I had a blast playing the Japanese version, but my experience was limited because I can't understand Japanese.

Hope the English voice acting doesn't make the characters sound gay though. Is there an option to leave the Japanese voice acting in?

With the proper tools (UMDGen?), couldn't a person redub the audio so it uses the Japanese voices?

voice acting of some heroes is horrible.
Like zidane and warrior of light.

Sephiroth has the same guy's voice from KH1, KH2, Crisis Core and English
version of Advent Children...

love this game so far. love the battle system.
i don't fully understand it yet because sometimes i could
kill in just 10 seconds! Sometimes it takes a long time.

can't beat Ultimecia yet. LOL

I love the game! Squall is incredibly hard to use, as he has NO aerial attacks, and I'm one who loves aerial combat. But Renzokuken is still awesome to pull off. x]

What do you mean by aerial attacks? I only use Squall, so I'm not sure what the other character's aerial attacks are like.

I mean attacks you can use in the air. I believe he only has one for O and one for [] at the start, and I've unlocked about 3 or 4 ground attacks and not a single aerial attack yet. But it says in his bio that he has very few aerial attacks at all.

(for O) I like beat fang which you get pretty early, but then around level 30-something you get another that is like a blast of electric/fireballs. Both are pretty good because they combo and smash the opponent into the wall.
For [] I only use fated circle because I feel the other air attacks are way too slow.

Is it just me or do you start with more HP attacks then the Japanese one?

Or is it just becuase I have poor memory and I can't read Japanese.

Also I use Squall too, favorite

I think Squall starts with rough divide (rather than getting it at lvl50 or whatever). Good thing, since I don't think rough divide is that great hahah. He also has mid-air rough divide, which I never got and my JP squall is lvl80~

edit: and yeah, Squall is the man, I wish FF8 still worked on my PC, can't get it to run on vista and too lazy to hook up my desktop

You can get negative DP. It'll give you -10 points for every -1 DP at the end of a chapter.

QUOTE(Skyline969 @ Aug 23 2009, 08:56 AM) Ugh, Squall is too difficult to control for me. I'm getting rather good with Tidus, I'm working some cool combos with him. Cloud's good too, and cross-slash is deadly.

I love using Tidus. In fighting games, I tend to favor speed over raw power. I'm okay with Cloud, but I can't beat a special battle piece on the second playthrough of his story. I'm working on Zidane's story right now.

Yeah, I'm starting Zidane's story later today. Just got a PSP extended battery kit for my 3K, so I'm charging that up. It was sweet, got like $130 for my old games at EB Games. Store credit only, which sucked, but that's ok.

And as for speed over raw power, I can agree somewhat. I mean, I like a tank and all, except I like to be quick. However, I hate having feather-light hits like what Onion Knight has... but I had a thought: Who does the voiceovers for Onion Knight? He sounds like Sora from KH1 almost, especially when he yells "Fire!".

I agree with speed over strength, especially for this game because I think it's the easiest way to go. I don't know how far you guys are, but Squall is definitely awesome once you get to a certain point. You just have to make really good use of free-air dash. I only used Tidus once, but I think he's awesome, I'd like to see what some of his other HP attacks are though (only got him to about level 11 :\ )
