Croc is the next 90s mascot platformer to get a remaster

The classic 1990s game Croc: The Legend of Gobbos is getting a remaster. Joining the likes of Spyro, Crash, and Banjo & Kazooie, Croc will be seeing an upgraded remaster at some point. Former lead of Argonaut and series creator Jez San said that while it's very early on to announce, "Croc HD" has begun development. Croc, while it never had much staying power, the original game sold over 3 million copies, performing on-par with other beloved games back in the day.

played both croc 1 and 2 recently on ps1 and they are still fun imo, the worst part is the tank controls for a 3d platformer.

Hah, oh boy this game. So I had a younger step brother for a bit who loved the demo to this game. He played it over and over. His dad got him the real game. He hated it because the demo level now had an exit and he would actually have to play and figure stuff out. This kid would never have survived NES games.

I've only ever heard of Croc, is it any good?
It's Argonaut in their better days, like, before the catwoman.

Let's hope they'll remaster controls foremost.

If cream of the crop of Rare's later N64 efforts, followed by Mario 64 in a distant but not too distant place. That gets followed by Crash Bandicoot (which for the most part is an endless runner really rather than platformer like the others) and Rayman 2.
Spyro was never good but I can see why some enjoy it.

It is going to be above Gex and considerably above Bubsy and Earthworrm Jim 3d, further still above the horror that is Sonic Adventure.

Playing it today... it would be more of a see how games evolved over the years/part of being a well rounded gamer/know your history than outright play for fun. At the same time I would certainly play it over half the dross that comes out these days from people other than Nintendo (who don't do that well either as far as I am concerned, almost winning by default). If you are doing historical play throughs there are plenty of things I would do in preference as well, for instance Sly Cooper, Infamous and Ghost of Tsushima devs made a pretty solid little game called Rocket: Robot on Wheels for the N64 as their debut, and while most would think Crash Bandicoot the Sony answer to Sonic and Mario then I would say Ape Escape should be put forth instead. Ghouls n Ghosts had a spinoff in the Maximo series. Voodoo Vince being Microsoft's (or at least funded by them) effort a bit later in life and actually not bad either. The N64 and PS1 and PS2 libraries also house a lot of little quirky things that do some very interesting things, the likes of which we don't really see any more.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I tried making chocolate lava cakes the other day in cupcake pan, what a mess, my lava exploded out of the cakes everywhere while baking, was still ok tho, just no lava inside.

We had our grandkids over yesterday and I got a small above ground swimming pool I filled for them to play in. Well today I woke to find 3 ducks swimming around in it. Don't mind really but they are annoyingly loud, quack quack. Gotta drain it today. Guess what were having for dinner, lol.

I used butter instead of vegetable oil, and think that's why they squirted out during baking, who knows

plus if you're making brownies or lava cakes for people with dairy allergies, you should use oil instead of butter anyway

I make rum cake for 4th July every year, I make it a week prior and then soak it in rum in the fridge all week. I flip the cake each day, and add little more rum, it soaks it up everyday, so good.

Me and wifey was deciding on our next vacation, so I hung up a map on the wall, and give her a dart and said, wherever you hit, we will go. She threw the dart and it missed the map completely and fell into a trash can below on floor. So I said "ok Florida it is."
