Which emulators do you mean? The retroarch plugins? Genplus-GX is at it's latest v1.7.3, Tantrics emulators have minimal updates. As it stands almost all games are fully playable with the emulator plugins available.
i guess i mean a cover plugin, as version i saw was for the last version before the current versions of sens9x, genplus etc

why is there covers for emulators like genplus gx it dosent have cover support and all the other emulators that do are outdated...anyone no where to get the lastest updated versions of emulators with cover support that arnt like 5 revisions behind? That way we don't have to use wiiflow because not everyone likes it, I use usb cfg loader for example

thnx

How did you get your wiiflow to spin the N64 and SNES game boxes so they appear right side up in the menu? My wiiflow is current and i finally got all the correct cover art in and properly referenced in the ini's but my n64 and SNES titles scroll across without moving so the pictures appear sideways and sometimes stretched. I can't find mention of it ANYWHERE, i thought it was maybe built in to the themes but after trying a few different ones I had no luck.

When I run the emu plugin on WiiFlow it shows two of each game? even though I only have the one rom in the emu folder, also I can't get the covers to show...i've put the in the plugin cover folder, should it be in the emu cover folder? (though none have a cover folder)
I had that problem recently, check your wiiflow plugins folder and delete (or move) any ini's currently not in use. I had two plugins referencing my gameboy rom folder so it would display each game twice and only one would work. After sorting out the ini's and reloading the wiiflow cache you should only have one working rom of each.

I'm running genplux gx and my covers work fine, I did them manually though. If yo're talking about the wiiflow cover download option the games have to be named their 4-6 digit game/region number so the websites (gametdb in my case) to find the correct title/cover art. I got too frustrated trying to find the official game numbers and just found the cover art i wanted and renamed the rom/art appropriately.

Well, the more covers the better as far as I'm concerned. What's wrong with being ahead of the game? Why wouldn't I want to post as many different sets as possible, regardless of whether or not it's currently supported? There have already been a few sets (ex - Atari 2600) that weren't supported, that are now... so they were already there for the taking when it got released. Also, the 3D Genesis sets... i had talked to Eke-Eke for awhile, and was under the impression for a long time that he was going to release a cover version of genplusgx (I know he had messed with it for awhile, and saw some screenies of a "simulated coverflow" style that looked fantastic). Unfortunately, it never got implemented. I also had a friend who compiled me a private unreleased cover version of 1.6 back in the day, and I was able to use the sets for that, and loved it... unfortunately i don't use it anymore with the great new features of 1.7.3.

As for the SNES, NES, and vbagx cover mods that are outdated... That was a project that gbatemp member Wiimpathy had dedicated quite some time too for awhile, and since he hasn't had the time to update them recently, it looks like it's on someone else to update them if they decided to take it on.

Well first off, you need to have "Emuflows" set up in you theme.ini file. I won't go into more detail here (check the wiiflowwiki for more info on that), but here is the "[Emuflow]" code for SNES & N64 that I use.

Also, If you're using the source menu for your plugins, you need to reference the flow # (in this case it's 2) in the source_menu.ini so it will load it by default. It's the last line in the example below.

source=plugin
magic=534e4553

Hope this helps.

Hi, I started to set this up and before I went and renamed everything I tried it out on one file (snes game)and my cover is showing up sideways.

I downloaded SNES Shrunken Spine (588MB) Recommended for WiiFlow!

Before I go and rename everything can anyone tell me what I did wrong?

I tried searching the thread and didn't see an answer.

Also, If you're using the source menu for your plugins, you need to reference the flow # (in this case it's 2) in the source_menu.ini so it will load it by default. It's the last line in the example below.
[BUTTON_5]
image=SNES.png
image_s=SNESb.png
source=plugin
magic=534e4553
emuflow=2
Hope this helps.

Thanks a TON, I modified my theme.ini with the settings you gave me and now everything looks great! The covers are flowing correctly and the image is finally right side up and I can see the back of the boxes. Thanks again you made my week =D

Did you try searching 2 posts before your post? LOL. I just answered that question, take a look. :)

So I should just copy and paste your emuflow code in to my theme.ini file? I looked at the wiki as you suggested and didn't see anything about this and as you didn't go in to detail I really don't know what your answer is about.

I will try it out and see, but shouldn't this be mentioned in the first post? It seems pretty important.

It seems wiiflow is the only loader that supports plugins with covers for emulators from what I can gather.

How do I get wiiflow to recognize my emunand? I tell it to look on my USB but it doesn't let me navigate to the folder and it asks me if I want to extract it.

Will wiiflow work with Devolution? It didn't see my gamecube games which work fine in USB loader GX...do they have to be in a different folder for wiiflow?

Wow! Would you mind sharing with us this version? Even though it is an outdated version, I would love to try it.

Can't do it man, it will remain eternally unreleased.. I would NEVER do anything to step on Eke-Eke or my friends toes. Hope you can understand that.

Hi, I've recently got dosbox working as plugin for wiiflow and have a request for 4 covers. Does anybody here have scans of full box covers for MS-DOS 6.22, Windows 3.11, Windows 95(not the upgrade) and Windows 98 SE ?

I have trawled the internet looking for a tidy set but found nothing. All my versions came with new computers so I never got the boxes. If someone has scans or could make covers. Would they please post them here.

It's very nice of you. To display cover instead of screenshot isn't hard though. You just have to change some values in fileselec.c like here. I don't think eke would kill us if it stays here on gbatemp.
Regarding the tantric's cover mods, I'm a bit upset nobody tried to update them. That's only some copy paste especially on Snes now since you can compile easily with the latest Devkit.
Fortunately, there's Wiiflow and all its plugins.

That's great! And it works without touching the Dosbox source code?

Yes it works with the normal dosbox wii program that can be downloaded from the wiibrew site. Dosbox can use command line parameters and therefore any wii homebrew that can use similar parameters could be run from a plugin.

See the wiibrew gbatemp board for the details of how I did it, or I can PM anybody interested detailed instructions.

I will not post it here as it is off topic. And the topic here is covers; does anybody have the scans of the covers of Msdos 6.22 - Windows 98 SE. Also any covers for old DOS games would be great. Just setup Dark Forces to boot from wiiflow.

Fortunately, there's Wiiflow and all its plugins.

I prefer to use the emulators on their own. I even configure the plugins and source menu in wiiflow, but in the end decided to continue using wiiflow just for Wii, Gamecube and Nand emulation. Of course it's interesting to see the full boxes of the games in wiiflow, but the emulators are faster to switch games, don't have any issues and have a great interface. I'm pretty happy with the Snes9xGX Cover Mod and the GenPlusGX. I think they are almost perfect. Actually, I think the emulators run better than the virtual console. The only advantage of the virtual console for the 8 or 16 bit consoles is the access to the game manuals.

A couple of updates..

First - The SNES Vertical set is now live. They were created by the great artists at thecoverproject.net using Shenske's template. ToddofWar420 and I gathered them up from the main page and the forums, then I re-sized them and did some slight editing (fixed all logo's to match & align, etc). Individual download folders and all-inclusive .rars have been posted, and i am working on uploading the "master sets" which should be up by tomorrow.
Second - There is a new update available for NES. It includes 23 new covers, 12 new alts, and 1 cleaned cover. The all-inclusive .rars have been updated, and images added to the individual downloads folder. There is also a seperate update folder located in the individual downloads folder that has all the new images only (as well as a .rar of all the new stuff). Have Fun!

Also, there wii be another Horizontal SNES update coming soon!

EDIT:
-Update 03-06-13: The SNES Horizontal Set has been updated. It includes 20 new covers, a bunch of cleaned covers, and some new alternates. Also, I never really announced it, but about a month ago i had done a FULL update to the SNES coverset. There were a lot of covers that were cleaned/moved/removed/added.. there were too many changes to do an update pack, so it got started from scratch. If you haven't updated your SNES covers in awhile, my suggestion is to re-do it from scratch, so that you have the cleanest covers available. If you are up-to-speed with the most current set, there is a seperate update folder located in the individual downloads folder that has all the new images only (as well as a .rar of all the new stuff). The all-inclusive .rars have been updated, and images added to the individual downloads folder. Also, the SNES Vertical Master sets have now been posted.

Hi guys, I have been looking though the cover project site in search for cover packs just like the ones Mastershoes put together.

Did anyone knows where I can find them? I'm trying to build high resolution packs for all no-intro sets to use with XBMC.

There are no "coverpacks" hosted on thecoverproject. You have to d/l them individually from there main threads, and there are also tons that are spread out through hundereds of pages of the forums.. you just gotta hunt and hunt.. sometimes you'll get lucky and find a box or mediafire folder in a sig where you can d/l mulitiple covers at once, but that's it. It's kind of a huge pain in the ass!

Thanks for the tip, worked great! :)
