in moments like this, i don't even know who i must trust :'v
I'll help you out. The piece of code it was based off of was posted in this thread. All he's doing is using someone else's code, modifying the printf's and running it. I could have had the same code running on my 3ds on 10.3 the second homebrew supported 10.3. He did nothing useful and if you look above zoogie showed he wasn't even getting am:u services. Obvious bull

Yes, I just don't find the heaps of praise and arguments are warranted. I've explained this, and I guarantee I know more about what's going on than you. It's just a bit grating to see "HE INVENTED A NEW FILE TYPE BY HIMSELF!" when its less than approximately 32 bits of header data.
Sorry if I came off like that, but what I actually meant was that he changed the file type so that n00bs would not use a .zip or a .cia file other than the 9.2/9.0 update cia/zip, and I was crediting him for that.

No, he said it was NOT a zip file, with a SHA-1 layer, from what i know. soo..its not just a "zip file". i had a chat with him on twitter about it. its not a zip file.
Okay look, it's a zip. Full stop. No arguing. That "SHA-1 layer" and "metadata" are the zip header. He can use all 29 bits in the header because he's not compressing the contents of the archive. He can tell you what he wants, but file formats don't lie. It's a repurposed and slightly rebranded zip is entirely synonymous.

That's still not what he did, as I explained a few pages back when I directly replied to you. To reiterate, it's to verify file integrity and to prevent bricks from flashing incorrect firmware.

See, thats what i meant. i failed at typing it..sort of..i guess, but its to prevent bricks and have checksumming to be sure it's the correct file.

Oh. Sorry, I misunderstood what we were talking about the whole time. I guess adding a few more lines to a file and renaming it isn't that big of a deal, but I was using it in the context that it was better than what the troll was doing 10-15 pages back would ever do. That was the whole point of me starting that topic.

I wonder if that was the point of game streaming
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    But it's a dead end
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, people who cant download it can still play the game
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

@BigOnYa, i only have like 1 or 2 mb sec

Did you feed the hamster in your internet router? It prob died and is running slow now.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, why did you start saying my pc has a hamster in the first place?

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
