The whole 'happy holidays' thing is annoying. I mean I don't celebrate Christmas because of it's origins but I dont find it offensive. You choose to celebrate it, I choose not to, I deal with that.
It paints a bad light on us that don't celebrate Xmas. People resent having to say happy holidays and group all those that don't celebrate xmas into one group and resent us all, even though there a huge differences in beliefs.
As for the article in the OP, it's nice to here stuff like this, though it's nicer when it's not this tiime of year and its done on a whim, without needing Xmas as an excuse. I can also say I've beifited from similar things through my religion. During the summer hols, someone bought as a full weeks shop for 6 then the week after that someone else gave us £1000. Kinda hard when he went into hospital and passed away before I could thank him.
