European charger is a good idea.
I don't think adding a converter is good, as it is bulky, not very comfortable and wastes additional energy.

The european charger works perfectly, as the output voltage is the same as for the american 3DS.
That said, I charge both my american and european 3DSes using a USB to 3DS cable, I have been doing so for the last 2+ years, that is very handy.

just look at your charger... if it says only 110v, then you can only use it with 110v.
if it says 110v~240v, or something similar, you can use it in both, and just buy an adaptor so the plug will fit where you are.
does this really need a whole thread about people posting their experiences traveling around the world lol?
