Hey!
I am trying to buy a ps4 that likely has a corrupted HDD.
if I change the HDD of the ps4 with a new one and install an old Firmware version on it, would the ps4 still boot ? if so, wouldn't be possible to jailbreak the ps4 ?
if not, why or what happens?
I am new here and never owned a ps4 before so any help would be more than welcome :D

Solution
If its just a corrupted hard drive then sure, replacing it should make it work, as for the older firmware part, no.

It has to have atleast the most current firmware it has, this is due to Sony implementing efuses, the firmware file checks how many fuses have been blown and unless they match or it is less than what is currently blown the firmware will not install.

You might be lucky and 7.55 or earlier might be the last firmware installed, that way you can just reinstall 7.55 and yeah it'll be jailbreakable, but if its anything later than 7.55 you'll be stuck on that firmware at the very least

Depends on what the issue is, if the issue was the drive, replacing the drive and reinstall OS would make it bootable, if it was other hardware related problem you would have to investigate.

Are you near sea/salt water, or in general they just don't last. Sounds like if you driving a mercedes, you need a garage. I get snow n ice here so nothing worse than clearing that shit off at 6am rushing to get to work.

    Like a 1 wire mod?
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Still two wire with resistor if you don't count the 7 wire pc probes cause hardware likes a good probing

2 wires left on motherboard, 7 temp soldered to a flasher, then removed after flashed
