Hi everyone,

I've tried everything and searched Google and can't find a solution. Hoping someone here can help me.

I got a N3DS XL on v10.3.0-28U

In following the Plailect guide. I successfully got to step 2.1.0 ctrtransfer. In Decrypt9WIP (using 2017/01/15 version ... I've tried backwards till 10/13 version as well) ... and picking Auto CTRNAND Transfer I get the following error: (after entering the key sequence)

Code:
Unmounting SD card...
Initializing SD card... success
Build: Decrypt9WIP (2016/11/13)
Work directory: /files9
Game directory: /files9
sector0x96 Key: otp.bin not found
0x03 KeyX & KeyY: already set up
0x05 KeyY: already set up
0x25 KeyX: already set up
0x18 KeyX: already set up
0x1B KeyX: already set up
0x24 KeyY: not found
Finalizing Initialization...

Initialization: partially failed

You selected [Auto CTRNAND Transfer].

This feature writes to the EmuNAND.
This may overwrite important data!

If you wish to proceed, enter:
<Left>, <Right>, <Down>, <Up>, <A>

(B to return, START to reboot)

Selected: [Auto CTRNAND Transfer]
SD is not formatted for EmuNAND
Auto CTRNAND Transfer: failed!

Press B to return, START to reboot.

Any help to resolve this please? At a lost at the moment.

Also does anyone else have issues with Decypt9WIP where using the D-Pad opens the wrong menu or that you have to press the keys quickly to get to the next menu? Not sure if there is something wrong with the D_Pad.

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

It appears you didn't dump your OTP by the looks if it..

You're doing it for emunand and not sysnand as the guide instructs? Did you use an emunand previously to starting the guide?..

Hmm the guide does not mention anything about dumping OTP?

I'm executing these steps in Decrypt9WIP and it is failing after the key combo.
  1. Go to “SysNAND Options”, then “CTRNAND Transfer”, then “Auto CTRNAND Transfer”
  2. Input the key combo given, then select the 2.1.0 ctrtransfer image when prompted by pressing (A)
No emunand previously. Started from scratch.

Aaah, you're CTR Transfer to dump OTP, I see. Do you have the .sha and .bin of the 2.1 files? And the correct region ofc. Check they're not corrupt, including your sd card

Yup using both files prefixed with 2.1.0-4U_ctrtransfer_o3ds. Downloaded them again via the guide and same error. I also tried the SD card that came with the N3DS and get the same error at the same spot. Really bizarre as not sure whay I am missing.

Are you 100% sure you're choosing "sysnand options" and not "emunand options" when you're doing the transfer? The error says it's trying to CTRtransfer to an emunand partition that doesn't exist. Hence the error, you can't write to an nonexistent partition. Try again and double check you're loading Decrypt9 from Sysnand (not emunand) and choose the correct menu options.

Also why is it trying to write to emuNand?

"This feature writes to the EmuNAND."

Should it not be writing to SysNAND?

I think I figured out the problem. I think this N3DS XL has an issue the keys or its movement. Picking SysNand is actually selecting EmuNand options. So bizarre.

I think buying this second hand has some key press / button / unknown issue.

Has anyone experienced this before?

especially Nintendo because they only ever lower the price of games when they do a greatest hits/platinum hits/players choice re-release

@The Real Jdbye, and the HD collections released for 7th gen consoles too
