Unfortunately, no. No way to bypass the region lock and probably the only way there ever will be is if the 3DS gets hacked. That hasn't happened yet and don't know when or if it will be so for now it's just waiting patiently to see IF something happens eventually.

Does this means I would get to buy a Japanese 3DS?
That would be the only way, yes.

The region lock is not going to be bypassed unless we have softmods or flashcarts that run in 3ds mode, sorry to say

Probably, I just dont really fit into a category. I will start out as learning for one game, Terry's Wonderland, then spread from there. Eventually i might sell my US 3DS.

Heh, when it comes to untranslated Japanese games, I'm content with the ability to read kana and sound out the loanwords, though I suppose that only works for retro games which use text more sparingly :D

The $200 worth of Amazon.com vouchers sitting unused in my GMail account says "no", there's no way to run import games on a 3DS yet. I can't think of anything else to buy with them. :(

It's funny...Nintendo has historically hated Europe/UK, but Australia seems pretty much universally hated by everyone.

Australia is just overpriced in almost all respects.

If you're considering importing a Japanese 3DS, you may want to look into getting from a Japanese provider, and get a forwarding service to help receive the goods and ship them outside of Japan.

I recently ordered a black 3DS XL for 17,672 yen from Amazon Japan, which equated to $182.85 in AUD, excluding shipping from a forwarding service like Tenso, where the cost would depend on the weight of the console perceived by them.

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
