When we say 'magically happened', it typically means an instant change of reality that requires no effort (but most importantly the one who causes that change don't realize what they did either). In other words toon-force alike. This is beyond the scope of science or occult, which also requires the study of pattern and nature but possibly not to the same extent of detail to science since there are too many things in this world beyond our control. And they can do it casually.
