im gonna need to get a bigger sd card can i just move all of the crap from this card to the new one when i get it or do i have to do this all overagain
I did it on my original 3DS with the stock 2GB card tonight. I had more than enough room. If you have any big eShop games, you should delete them and re-download them after you're done.

No, you don't have to do it all over again but there is a procedure you need to follow to transfer your current SD card's contents to a new SD card. You cannot and should not just swap them and copy the files over. It's not quite that simple.

I recommend just buying a bigger one and THEN modding your 3DS. Or not modding your 3DS, since you don't seem to be too sure of what you're doing.
