Didn't own the Wii U version, but I am still unsure if I'll get the Switch game. Not interested enough to blow any of my tiny amount of money on it near it's launch anyway.

truthfully i never brought a MK game.
The last one i played was mario kart DS.
But i deiced to get MK8 Deluxe to see what its all about and its an extra game to fill the gap until spaltoon comes out.

Being able to whip my switch out wherever i am and have easy access to multiplayer with friends is one of the main defining features of what makes the switch an amazing hybrid console so I'll definitely get MK8D to have this experience.

Mario Kart 8 was bad enough but the fact that they decided to have a port instead of an original Mario Kart bugs me. I just hope they don't port sm4sh instead of making a new one.

Because MK8 has the worst characters out of any Mario Kart game, I really just don't like the game play either

Probably not. I do like battle mode but I already own MK8 and paying for the same game again just to get some minor additional content isn't really worth it to me. Besides, I'm kind of bored of MK8 and I don't play it much these days.
