    (1) Do NOT use the unlock all/complete all [whatever] codes in the editor. They're what cause that. Use the 100% save I uploaded and import your boxes/info, etc. (read all my warnings though. It takes a small amount of preparation to use) if you want all quests completed/etc (seriously. virtually everything was unlocked on that save - and all legit so there wont be bugs like when using codes).
    (2) there's an HR locker in the first post. it's a last resort, but it usually works in cases like yours.
    (3) ALWAYS CHECK THE FIRST POST FOR A SOLUTION FIRST. Seriously. Like 99.99% of the problems mentioned as of late were solved in the first two months of the game/editor being out.

Actually your posts are not quite correct...
You can switch between items with decorations that surpass the limit of slots in an equipment for examle maxed setups (3 * 3-slot-jewels) if you are on page 4 for example (the page where the Skills and values are just listed) [select a normal equipment, switch to page 4 and then switch to your custom equipmetn].
You can also equip weapons, armor or talismans with any decorations combination. The skill value is counted as you would expect it from the values in your armor, talisman and jewels and skills are activated. (tested with Handicraft 15, Wind Res 15 & Hearing 15)

As soon as you have equiped the custom equipment the folowing actions crash the game:
    • Open the menu "Status"
    • Open the menu "Equipment"
    • Open your card (lower screen) in Multiplayer rooms
    • Open the card of other players with over-slotted equipment
    • Open your Box --> "Manage Equipment" --> "View Talisman" (as long as you have an over-slotted talisman)
    • Open your Box --> "Manage Equipment" --> "Select Equip." (whenever you select any equipment type (Weapon, Helm, Mail, Braces, Faulds, Greaves, Talisman) you have equipped over-slotted
    • Open your Box --> "Manage Equipment" --> any option (whenever you select an over-slotted equipment on the 1st or the last page
    • Smithing an equipment (whenever you select any equipment type (Weapon, Helm, Mail, Braces, Faulds, Greaves, Talisman) you have equipped over-slotted
    That means:
    • You cannot unequip your stuff, if all 7 equipment types are over-slotted, because you would always see the first page of your equiped stuff by doing this.
    • The only way to unequp over-slotted stuff is by removing the decorations with the save game editor
Talisman skill points are empty in case:
    • they have more slots than allow for it's level
    • they use a skill type on a slot which is not allowed for it's level
    • they use a skill value that exceeds the maximum allowed for it's level
    • check the taliman editor for the max values
I hope with this insight we can finally max our active skills again.

well, NTR makes it much easier (and allows even more skills while avoiding any crashes), so that solution isn't quite worth the effort in many cases. Interesting find tho (assuming it persists through saving/loading and hunts, since those are when most of the in game 'corrections' take place).

Is there a possibility of an NTR plugin being made for this?

A quick google search will turn up several results for an existing NTR plugin (namely the one I mentioned in literally my last post)

Hey bros im trying to access save manager on soundhax homebrew for my mh4u cartridge on my NewN3DSXL 11.3.0.36U.
Everytime i select mh4u, the upper screen goes black and my lower screen goes green.
Ive tried pressing every button installed on the console, waiting up to nearly an hour, turning the system off and retrying etc. many times.
Ive looked everywhere but cant really find others with this issue that has found a solution.
Or should i switch to JKSM? (if it works for mh4u that is)

just to clarify, ive installed starter kit to root of micro sd card, installed save manager from here, placed save manager in '3ds' file from the starter kit, and placed soundhax file along with the appropriate otherapp payload (which i have renamed ofc) in root of sd card.
i think ive done everything correctly so far so i dont know why i cannot access the save manager menu...

JKSM works for most games, MH4U included. You're better off posting for help in a MH4U thread/Homebrew help thread in the future.

I have edited my results. A little unsatisfying but at least it works somehow. Using just 1 not over-slotted equipment gives you the option to reequip. I haven't tried this NTR tool you were speaking about but maybe if I find some time.

Either use the save editor to put the items in or use the NTR plugin to make all armors craftable.

    Greetings,

First of all to start, I want to make sure you guys understand I'm not lazy - I've read ~30 pages in this thread and watched 3 youtube videos (sadly they were outdated, MH4 instead of MHGen), I've also read the OP with the FAQs etc.
I've been trying to get this to work on my PC but haven't been able to do so.
The MHXSaveEditor can't find the files to work with, after I exported my extdata from my New3DS to my PC, I figured this had to do with the (JK's) Save Manager, however that also doesn't work on my PC - so I take it I need to run the export save file manager on my New3DS (which should've been obvious, but it totally passed me), this is where my questions comes:

Is it possible to run the Character Exporter on my PC since I don't have any homebrew channel on my 3DS and I'm not familiar with them and thus want to avoid using a homebrew channel?
(I already have a copy of the extdata folder that contains the original files of the 3DS on my PC.)

Sorry if my question is stupid, but I'm quite new to all of this and have been reading quite a bit, but I'm still not familiar with all of this.
    Thanks for your time.

You need Homebrew access to export a non-encrypted version of your save. The character exporter is PC-only, but requires said non-encrypted save.

Homebrew is non-intrusive and is relatively easy to set up for 3DS. Once you're done with homebrew, simply delete the boot.3dsx and/or your entrypoint (in the case of 11.4, the doodlebomb exploit note) and you're back to a 'normal' 3DS.

Custom firmware, on the other hand, is a tad more intrusive, but ultimately changes nothing as far as 3DS function (aside from bypassing some system features that make it hard[er] to access data in and from games, which is not evident to the basic user) unless you go out of your way to set it up.
