Hacking Anything I need to do to update fw to current running luma3ds and 11.0?

I installed Luna cfw on me and my son's 3ds's probably a year or so back...
Upgraded it to 11.0 using the guide at the time so I got sysnand 11.0 I believe.

Any steps I need to take before upgrading to current? Can't find a guide.

You probably should update A9LH and Luma, using this guide https://plailect.github.io/Guide/updating-a9lh , and then just install update using official nintendo method.
