Any way to tell if this is a 2010 or 2011 model just by looking at the box?

I have an unopened CECH-2501A 160GB model PS3, but just looking at the box, I'm not sure how to tell if this model is from 2010 or 2011. I originally bought it ~10 years ago with the intent of hacking it, but if the PS3 is from 2011, I'd like to leave it unopened and sell it. The serial number sticker has a UC2 on it, but I can't tell how that relates to the date codes. Any help would be appreciated.

isn't the A in the sku model the date code? you said it was a 2501A.

actually, it is. that's the date code. it's either A or B.

the only way to know for sure really is to open up the box and test the system with minverchk or something.

you're right that the A and the B refer to hdd size. I had forgotten about that. I don't think there's any way to tell the base firmware without opening up the box, unless it were a bundle. those firmwares are likely recorded somewhere.

I think this was the model released before PS Move cause later most of the 160GB Model boxes had PS Move Advertising on it
and later 320GB models were sold as a bundle with the PS Move. So therefore I guess this was shipped in 2010.

I had a CECH-2501B Model bundled with PS Move earlier and it was luckily it was downgradable.
