Hardware adding video to hdd?

So i have a 250 gb slim hdd and one of those slim only transfer cables. I wondering if anyone knows how to add videos to the hdd when its hooked it up to a laptop?
side note: i tried the xplorer360 it came with and injected some videos but they dont show on my slim?

AFAIK you can't transfer videos directly to the HDD from your PC. I recommend using a USB HDD, flash drive, DVD, or streaming from your PC.

If the purpose behind this is to watch downloaded movies and the like, do what I do. Have some sort of USB storage device, put your MP4 files or whatever on there, play them through the 360 media programs. Works fine for me, got the new Karate Kid movie on in the background right now. Added bonus, if you have videos originally intended for a PSP, they work fine. And if you don't, knowing that makes movie downloads a little easier to find
