I'm trying to find a Flashcart for two of my friends.

I have an older R4 card for my DSlite, and I love it. So later my friend got a R4 sdhc for his DSlite and we could never get it to load properly. Maybe it wasn't an official R4 card?

So I want to know if anyone has experience with the R4i Gold Plus Standard Edition V1.4.3 ? Or could suggest the right version for my needs.

The more urgent is for a DSi XL, and the other is for a 3DS.

I'm open to suggestions of other brands as long as they are as simple to use as my R4.

Thanks :)

*Edit*
Seeing as how these are for friends and I don't have the same DS as them, The flashcart should come with the necessary moonshell or what not to run the basic menu.

Just get an Acekard and forget about R4 all together.

Every Acekard works out of the box on a DSLite.
Download AKAIO and place it on the root of the microsd.
Moonshell can be downloaded on filetrip.

Thanks!

Will this work on the DSi XL & the 3DS right out of the box as well?
Or is that what AKAIO is for?

(Basically I just want to drop all my NES & SNES emus on it and have it work.)

Recently-manufactured Acekard 2i's will work on the latest menus for all consoles.

Ones made a month or two ago might not support the latest 3DS menu out of the box, but the DSi hasn't had an update in quite some time.

So basically, buying an Acekard 2i now will guarantee OOTB DSiXL support, and 3DS support after the Prince Caspian flash.

AKAIO is the menu your flashcard will need for selecting games and emulators.
Every thing on filetrip made for the DS WILL work on a AK2i
Ones for DSi or Supercards DSTwo WILL NOT work on a AK2i

I currently use the following:
nesDS
SNEmulDS
Lameboy_Ds
colors_1_06h (painting program)

Will they all work, or will I have to find others?

You're welcome.

I'd suggest organizing your microSD when you get your AK2i.
It can be a pain in the bum to find a file or copy a homebrew if you have lots of files on it.

Just got my Acekard2i's, that took a while.
(I didn't order it, but they gave me the Christmas version, which is exactly the same but in a festive box.)

I loaded AKAIO on them and they work fine! Much simpler and cleaner setup than my R4.
(Though not a fan of the spring loading, which I was glad R4 did away with.)

Of course moment of truth is when my friends try it on theirs.

So if the cart reads as the Prince Caspian game, it should just work in a 3DS?

Thx

Thought this might be the right thread to ask this, but is there a certain site that sends Acecard 2i's in the US? Or does everything come from China? Just looking for a site that will have a fairly short shipment instead of the long 2 week china route. Thanks!

there are some sites in the US which sell flash kits, but all flash kits come from china. however, you are simply asking which sites stock flash kits from china and ship out of the US? try realhotstuff.com but you might want to read THIS first.
