You see, there are 3 versions of Freeshop. The original, developed by TheCruel, which stopped development after he got arrested and got a lengthy jail sentence, the second, Arc13's fork, was based off of the last commit Cruel made, and Paul's, which is the official continuation of Arc's fork and uses altcache which is updated MUCH faster (Arc's fork now updates itself to Paul's fork).

You either

1. download it and place it in the proper folder that freeshop searches for it
2. Scan the qr code that directs to the website for constant updating it

Either way if you have the right one, it should be on freeshop, the last game up there is mario and luigi as soon as you open freeshop. They even have japanese fire emblem warriors. That how you know is the right one everyone here is speaking of.

After you find the proper one, refresh cache and check if is there.

Or again, go to the title key site, search for the title you want, and scan the QR next to the results with FBI. It's much easier and you get stuff quicker since you don't have to wait on freeShop's cache to be updated. This can also generate QR codes that you can scan.

Yes, but Villain isn't as intensive as USB Helper, is much easier to navigate, has third-party downloader support (so you can download stuff with IDM, for example), is specifically for 3DS titles, and is multiplatform (runs on the three main operating systems without any extra steps, frameworks, or libraries).

Spread the word. Since it was posted in the ROM Hacking & Utilities section it's not getting as much attention as it could. I for one love it as a Mac user because I was using Bluestacks to run the Android version of USB Helper, and it hardly worked because Bluestacks is rather piss poor (on macOS at least).

Yes. It's written in C#. Villain is written in Node and uses the Electron framework. It's basically a stripped down Chromium that loads an HTML landing page bundled with the program. In this instance the application queries Nintendo's CDN using Javascript, parses it, and displays the results in an easy to use interface on the landing page.

Go into the settings for freeShop, and go to the Update tab. There's a box for the URL, and a QR button. Go to the title key site, click the QR button next to the encTitleKey.bin button, and scan the code with freeShop. Then force freeShop to update from the Update tab.

Also, you should know that only the European version of Superstar Saga is on freeShop (I don't know why). You can use the application I linked earlier to build a CIA, though, or you can just install it with FBI like I said earlier.
