Tell me more about these new featuresHold off on doing anything until AW releases the next version of Luma, which supports much more features than the latest a9lh commit
Region free, DS cards working, and full reboot patches.Tell me more about these new features
Or if a9lh v3 if is coming soon.
It can probably be called v3 though - the layman won't know about any of that. And easier than saying "Aurora Wright's no-sd-needed fork of a9lh"Region free, DS cards working, and full reboot patches.
a9lh v2 was used to designate using a new key - we're not (ever probably) going to switch again as this is a "perfect" key
Yeah, basically it's the full Luma which can run off CTRNANDRegion free, DS cards working, and full reboot patches.

And yet when I tried it didn't even boot. Now I'm wanting to try again and figure out my mistake.Tested Luma's payload from ctrnand, reboot stuff still doesn't work.
Lol, nope, no trolling, just tested with 3DSafe as emergency.bin.And yet when I tried it didn't even boot. Now I'm wanting to try again and figure out my mistake.
EDIT: Nope, still won't boot without the SD card. You guys aren't trolling me, are you?
Okay... just to make sure I'm not missing something, I installed the latest release of arm9loaderhax nocfw branch and then copied the latest nightly build of Luma3DS to my CTRNAND. Removed SD card and powered the 3DS on and.... it powers off. What critical thing am I missing?Lol, nope, no trolling, just tested with 3DSafe as emergency.bin.
Don't use release, compile it, then put arm9loaderhax.bin on the root of your CTRNAND.Okay... just to make sure I'm not missing something, I installed the latest release of arm9loaderhax nocfw branch and then copied the latest nightly build of Luma3DS to my CTRNAND. Am I not reading Github right? There's 0 new commits since the latest release. This would imply that building from source and the latest release would be the same?Don't use release, compile it, then put arm9loaderhax.bin on the root of your CTRNAND.
0 commits compared with "master", check out the dates.Am I not reading Github right? There's 0 new commits since the latest release. This would imply that building from source and the latest release would be the same?
Thank you. I learned that I can't read Github, compare dates or commit numbers. Also, it's working now with a fresh compiled copy. It's great and I can't wait to see what's in store.0 commits compared with "master", check out the dates.
https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/blob/master/patches/reboot.s#L81 you know, Luma can't find the payload name by magic...At the time of my comment, yes.
huh, we're talking A9LH here. What are we compiing? Im lost here.
We can't just go and change what the v2 in A9LH stands for. That'll confuse some people. Not to mention this version of A9LH still is installable with SA9LHIv2.x, correct? It can probably be called v3 though - the layman won't know about any of that. And easier than saying "Aurora Wright's no-sd-needed fork of a9lh"
I assume A9LH will load nand:/arm9loaderhax_si.bin ?https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/blob/master/patches/reboot.s#L81 you know, Luma can't find the payload name by magic...
When it gets more mainstream, people will need a short catchy name to distinguish it from the version in the guide though. We can't just go and change what the v2 in A9LH stands for. That'll confuse some people. Not to mention this version of A9LH still is installable with SA9LHIv2.x, correct?
Huh, why? The version in the guide IS the latest release of AW's arm9loaderhax at any time. The guide will probably change accordingly. When it gets more mainstream, people will need a short catchy name to distinguish it from the version in the guide though.
Yes, some users compile from the source code to have access to the latest available features at any given time. Most only use the stable releases. You only have to wait for a new release to come out. You don't have to compile anything. I, and some others, prefer compiling to get access to the very latest arm9loaderhax.I know whe are talking about arm9loaderhax, i asked what are we compiling? We have to complile stuiff? I never had to do such things, only just install it from a download.
