Hardware 3DS turning off as soon as it enters sleep mode

It's the strangest thing... This afternoon, my 3DS has started turning off in sleep mode.

It happens immediately after I close the system. The blue light turns off, and the system powers down.

Everything else seems to be working perfectly.

Any idea what is going on?

Well the red light isn't on, and this happens even if my 3DS is plugged in.

Yes and yes; there is an active wifi connection and the wireless switch is turned on. I'm guessing I should try turning the wireless off?

Edit: Just tried turning the wireless off. The problem still occurs.

Huh what's everyone freaking out for? This is a legitimate problem and Nintendo has had quite a few before. There was an incident where some DS Lites would shut off by themselves when pressing some button randomly (happened to me so I sent it in for a replacement). You should definitely specify the issue and send in your unit. Might want to make them a note to keep all your downloaded stuff and Ambassador status if you have it.

The 3ds is just unpredictable when it comes to power issues. I have one 3ds that shuts off when I exit the Settings Menu and another 3ds that doesn't. Then there was the whole "push the button 3 times to turn off" silliness that may have been recently fixed. Of course there is your issue that you brought up, lol.

The 3ds is haunted. That's the only reasonable conclusion.

FYI

I opened a thread some months ago about my system turning itself off while in sleepmode, since the first moment I bought it. It was totally random, sometimes it could happen 5 times a day and then for two - three day it would stay on. Very very weird. Anyway with the last update this was resolved and since start of december till now it has never happen again.

There is certainly an issue with power in the 3DS.

hi. oky im not sure if this helps but this happend to me alot before updating me 3ds.
after i updated it my 3ds doesnt shut off by it self(not sure if it works for all or its just my 3ds going nuts)
this might be something that nintendo did to the 3ds so ppl can update or something (not sure im just thinking....or trolling....... no im just thinking)
