I have both a new 3DSXL and a standard 3DSXL w/ CFW running janky Chinese SD cards I don't trust, and I want to swap them for PNY sd cards. Would I be able to simply plug both SD cards into my PC and transfer the data to the new SD card or is there more to it than that?

Regardless where you get your SD card test the SD card with H2testw, the PNY one can also be fake.

I used FBI to install cia games on my N3DSXL, should I also use FBI to un-install games or can I use the official Nintendy way thru the 3DS menu. Does it matter, like leave tickets or something?

I use the nintendo way to uninstall games, if reinstall cause problem then you can get rid of the ticket, otherwise leave it alone.

hi, noob here. I have installed homebrew on my new 3ds, I have all the games, life is sweet <3 However, I want it to be sweeter. To conserve battery on my phone throughout the day I wanna make my 3ds the go to "low fi hip hop beats to study and relax centre".
My questions:
1. Can I just run moonshell 2 on my SD card or do I need an r4 card?
2. How would I run it straight from the SD without overwriting what I already have/ would it over write what I already have set up?
3. Would you guys recommend something else that would fit the criteria? I'm not married to the idea, I just really like the custom skin options moonshell 2 has.
TY in advance :)

There's some media player homebrew apps out there, they'd do the job. Just make sure you're using a known format like mp3, or atleast one that is supported by the app.

It's an app, it won't be overwriting anything.

It's not a good idea to listen to music using a 3ds, but to each their own i guess.

Cool thankyou very much :) May I ask why it isn't a good idea to run music from a 3ds? also what are the names of the apps that you mentioned so I can look them up?

Okay thank you. Yeah I feel that but my phone battery is also pretty shit. Maybe by working together my 3ds and my phone can make it through the day.
Get yerself a cheapo Samsung A series phone for 120$ (or something similar pricewise) and save yourself the headache.

I have a flashcard but when I run it via the homescreen it says
"An error has occurred. Press and hold the POWER Button to turn the system off. Please refer to the Operations Manual for details".
I can open it via twl++ tho.
I already have homebrew installed and I believe it's because of some limitations nintendo put on flashcards.
Does someone know how I can get it to work?

i have an old gateway 3ds and installed something like a decade ago to make it work .... my problem is that i want to remove it and get it back to stock nintendo/ factory settings so i can sell it on ebay.
i have a vague memory that i can do that just by putting in a real 3ds game, but i don't know if that;'s wise or a quick way to brick.
i can't seem to find anything about removing custom firmware and putting back regular nintendo stock firmware, any help would really be appreciated. ty

Is there any way to tell what's the original region of my 3DSXL? I'm assuming it's an American one since the serial number starts with SW but I can't get either eShop or Pokebank to work even after changing to American sysNAND, region in settings and registering an American NNID
