You'll have to download the bin file for Hourglass9 and put it in the luma/payloads folder and rename it start_hourglass9.bin. And did you definitely open the health and safety app, not just look at the icon?

After opening the app, it lists contents, warnings, cautions and careful usage. I don't see anything else.

I'm just looking at the sd card again, it seems like that file is already in there :s

Edit-

From what I understand, the system has been wiped, so I need to re-inject FBI using Hourglass.

So after holding power+start, then going into [EmuNAND backup/restore...]

There's an option to Health&safety dump, and Health&safety inject

Also, should I backup emuNand before doing this?

From https://3ds.guide/installing-arm9loaderhax
(Look there for links to files)
You don't need to do the whole thing, but only these

What you need

The latest release of Luma3DS (the .7z file)
The latest release of GodMode9
The latest release of Luma3DS Updater
The latest release of FBI

Instructions

Section I - Prep Work

Insert your SD card into your computer
Copy lumaupdater.cia from the Luma3DS Updater .zip to the /cias/ folder on your SD card
Copy FBI.cia from the FBI .zip to the /cias/ folder on your SD card
Copy arm9loaderhax.bin from the Luma3DS .7z to the root of your SD card, overwrite existing files
Copy GodMode9.bin from the GodMode9 .zip to the /luma/payloads/ folder on your SD card

Section III - Configuring Luma3DS

Boot your device while holding (Select) to enter the Luma3DS configuration menu
Make sure to start holding the button before pressing power
Use the (A) button and the D-Pad to turn on the following:
“Autoboot SysNAND”
“Use SysNAND FIRM if booting with R”
“Show NAND or user string in System Settings”
Press (Start) to save and reboot

Section V - Injecting FBI

Reboot holding (Start) during boot to launch the Luma3DS chainloader menu
Launch GodMode9 by pressing (A)
Navigate to SDCARD -> cias
Press (A) on FBI.cia to select it, then select “CIA image options…”, then select “Mount image to drive”
Press (A) on the .app file, then select “NCCH image options”, then select “Inject to H&S”
Press (A) to unlock SysNAND (lvl1) writing, then input the key combo given
Press (A) to continue
Press (Start) to reboot your device

Section VI - Installing CIAs

Launch Health and Safety (which is now FBI)
Navigate to SD -> cias
Install FBI and Luma3ds updater
Press (Home) to exit FBI

Section VII - Restore Health and Safety

Reboot holding (Start) during boot to launch the Luma3DS chainloader menu
Launch GodMode9 by pressing (A)
Press (Home) to bring up the action menu
Select “More…”
Select “Restore H&S”
Press (A) to unlock SysNAND (lvl1) writing, then input the key combo given

Section VIII - CTRNAND Luma3DS

Navigate to SDCARD
Press (Y) on arm9loaderhax.bin to copy it
Press (B) to return to the main menu
Navigate to SYSNAND CTRNAND
Press (Y) to paste arm9loaderhax.bin
Select “Copy path(s)”
Press (B) to return to the main menu
Hold (R) and press (B) at the same time to eject your SD card
Remove your SD card from your device
Press (Start) to reboot your device with your SD card removed
Booting your device at least once with your SD card removed will allow you to configure the CTRNAND based Luma3DS installation
Use the (A) button and the D-Pad to turn on the following:
“Show NAND or user string in System Settings”
Reinsert your SD card into your device
Press (Start) to save and reboot

This will update Luma, install FBI and Luma Updater (so you can update Luma with only your 3ds in the future) and copy the new Luma version to ctrnand to make your 3ds able to boot without sd.

Thanks. Just before I start the process... I have Hourglass already installed, and from what I've read, I wouldn't need it if I have godmode9? So do I delete that file from the payload, then add the godmode9.bin instead?
It doesn't matter if it's there. You can remove it or keep it.

In the new version of Luma, when you hold start it'll ask which you want to load.

Thanks a lot for the help. I've just finished the instructions and seems like all went well.

On the guide there's a note saying keeping a backup of the serialnumber_nand.bin - Where can I find this? It doesn't seem to be on the root directory of the SD card. Or is there a way to restore it using godmode9?

Also. Now that I've finished the guide, is the next step to use FBI app to install freeshop?

Hello there, I have a O3DS on 4.5.0-8E firmware.
I use it with a Gateway (actually on 11.2.0-35E).

I want to step up my game and go with a CFW.
I want to be able to play online without worries, installing games with a simple ticket.
Also, something simple.

QUESTIONS :

What do you think, should I update or keep it like this ? pretty old FW huh ^_^
Is it possible to "cold boot" into the CFW each time the 3DS is powered on ? (I currently need to enter into settings to start up the Gateway FW)
What do you recommend me to do ? Can someone point me to a tutorial ?

Reading the notes on the guide, it says godmode9 will start if I press power+start, which is the current combination to start hourglass. Will that be a problem?
You can rename them. https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/wiki/Other-features-and-notes#payload-chainloading
Update Luma3DS to latest one. https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/releases

https://3ds.guide Keep your EmuNAND, don't copy it to sysNAND like the Guide tells you. You'll need it for firmware protection and Gatewait doesn't work on 11.3 and higher.

You MIGHT have nand_min.bin and .sha in files9, if not you can make a nand backup with GodMode9 by pressing HOME -> more -> Backup Nand. It will be put to gm9out.

Yes. Now install freeshop with FBI.

Hi, I have a N3DS with A9LH and Luma.
The problem is, I had to format the MicroSD I used with my console and can't find anywhere the backup I made. So here's the question: which files do I have to copy on the MicroSD in order to have my 3DS back? Do I have to follow the guide on 3DS Guide once again?

Just arm9loaderhax.bin from Luma release archive

No. You just need the files. You can refer to the Guide for the files. You need the arm9loaderhax.bin from Luma3DS, payloads like GodMode9, Hourglass9, etc., and starter pack and the otherapp.bin if you want homebrew.

Do I just need to copy the files onto the MicroSD? Or should I install something too? If so, how do I do it considering I can't access Homebrew Channel?
