sure, thats why they made it compatible to all DS Games and they made the 3DS looks like a fatter DS, because of a more effective design!
oh and, why is it more effective to put the Mic to another place...??? Im sure zou both know the answer, would love to hear why

There are like under 5 games that would have a "hassle" with this. Maybe they put the mic there because they needed to work things around on the system? I remember the mic being at the bottom for my DS Phat and the 3DS has buttons and stuff there.

There's a method to their madness, and it's not to cater to a small, small fraction of the DS game library.

If anything, blame Spirit Tracks for having such a stupid, useless, and terribly designed mini game and stop crying. The 3DS was built with 3DS games in mind, not for the less than 5 DS games that may have issues with the layout.

How about this: the circle pad makes games like Super Mario 64 and such a lot more playable while the layout hurts some games like Spirit Tracks. We'll call it a draw.

This is still such an incredibly stupid complaint.

The 3DS microphone is horrible. I have Nintendogs + cats and it is very hard to speak to your dog.
I haven't tried playing Spirit Tracks on it though, maybe I'll try if I can find my copy.

I recently purchased spirit tracks and I have never played a Zelda game on the DS or 3DS but as soon as I realized that I could not use the d-pad or buttons to control the game I immediately put it down and have never picked it up again. I cannot stand using the stylus to control the game its just not comfortable.

Are the controls for OOT 3ds the same or can you use the analog stick and buttons?

QUOTE(angelzbl0od @ Sep 2 2011, 05:08 AM) there is no such thing as wasting money on video games. Even if they suck its still another to add to the collection!!!!! I actually did research it a bit (not the controls but the game itself IE: story and entertainment value) and many people gave it high scores. Zelda being as popular as it is and being around for so long I just figured that controls would not be a problem.

Im not sure why but I want to beat you with oranges for those posts dont take it too personal though everytime I start firefox I end up wanting to beat someone with oranges.

The controls for OOT3DS are great and precise, you don't use the Stylus at all, really. You will have to touch the screen sometimes but only to select items.

Because you were supposed to look up stuff about the game before buying it,
If you already knew you disliked touch-screen only controls, a quick Google search about the controls in that game would have showed you that the game isn'T for you.
Now you wasted money on a game.

Why would you google search "spirit tracks controls" ? I can understand people complaining about a game being bad and I often get annoyed with people who complain because they didn't do proper research, but something like the "controls" that most people won't find a problem wouldn't be an obvious thing to google search for. Could you honestly say that for EVERY game you've ever bought you went to google beforehand and searched "control scheme"?

You sound like a hoarder. I understand the thing about Zelda being popular and the controls not being a problem, totally, that makes sense. But "there is no such thing as wasting money on video games" is silly. There's such thing as wasting money on EVERYTHING.

The 3DS wasn't designed to be a DS game playing console, it's designed to be a 3DS game playing console. Just because you can play a game on it, doesn't mean it was meant for it.

No he doesn't, he sounds like a game collector. You know, those people who collect every video game? That's not hoarding, that's called having a hobby, check into one.

machomuu learn to read what i said. i was talking about the 3DS MIC placement doh!

...Are you retarded? And I'm seriously asking. Or rather you lack common sense. You lack it to the point that you can't even discern how utterly idiotic your question is. Now why in the hell would Ninty, while designing their new system, think to themselves, "Let's get some lulz at the weebos by putting the Mic were it was on the old system so that when they play the DS game on the 3DS they will have a hard time, LOL". You don't really think that's how it went down do you?

Nintendo makes lots of questionable decisions. I have nintendogs plus cats and for some reason the microphone can pick up my voice commands easily, but it doesn't register me blowing on the top screen as easily as say with the dsi (which i also have and with the first copy on nintendogs). and i know its the position with the microphone because when i blow lower on the 3ds (where the mic is located) it works better when i am using the bubble toy. and it could have easily been a design just to make the 3ds look for appealing. the mic it practically hidden. Why else did Nintendo place the freaken stylus on the left side on the back? it makes no sense at all unless it's aesthetic reasons.

Who cares if it's hidden, that's a good thing. Frankly, I never used the mic at all, and it annoyed me having to look at the slot on the DSL or see it in the middle of the hinge on my XL. I'm glad it's hidden, I don't want to see something I won't use. If it does it's job, then there's no need to complain.

Though the stylus thing is a little weird to me, unless it was the only place they could put it after having the guts in. I miss being able to quickly pull it out, and slide in with ease, but now I can't do that because I'm not left handed. If it was on the right but still at the top, I wouldn't mind as much.

That's not the point! Now you're saying its good that its hidden because you don't use it. even if its trivial, the point was that it worse to put it on the bottom when it is better to put it on the middle. Someone before said that the 3ds was designed for 3ds games. well that still doesn't explain why it was placed on the bottom and not the middle and i used nintendogs plus cats and an example. And I'm saying it could be an aesthetic reason for why it is hidden and on the bottom like that--at least i think you agree with me on that. " If it does it's job, then there's no need to complain." Yes, and it would do an even better job if it's on the middle.

anyways, this whole thing is pretty trivial. i don't really mind. I was just arguing back against the other guy who was pretty rude.

Does the Mic work for the 3DS games it's designed for? (Though I guess it's pretty early still to tell). If it does work, then there's no reason for us to be able to see it.

I also think that the 3ds microphone placement is a bad choice. For ME, it just feels more confortable to blow in front of me when I am lpayng instead of down right .. :/

Also. except for the RAM, GPU and the top screen, every thing else hardware wise is pain and simply old tech and of course very cheap.

just to let you all know, there is actually a MIC in the front of the 3DS!!!!! yes i was not aware untill i read the manual. The Mic is on the bottom screen near it's edge on the right side. You can see a tiny open square.

cheers!

you have to literally place your mouth on it and blow, a simple blow does not go well in this game. regardless, trying to blow into the mic and use the stylus to move to the next note is terrible. i think i will put this game away to never play.if the mic was placed like the DSL i think it would be more easier.
Maybe you're blowing it like an old lady. I put my DS Lite away 15cm and the microphone works OK, so from that distance you can see both screens, even on the 3DS, so maybe you are the problem.
