Yes, I've kinda asked this same question before. Old MenuHax setup. Yes, I've deleted the Menuhax stuff but if I try to delete all of the files off the sdcard, so I could install A9LH, it won't boot up after. I couldn't use GodMode9 earlier to transer emuNand so I moved it to a bigger sdcard and still nothing. I just don't know how to undo this process of holding L to boot up or turning my 2ds on without the sdcard in or without files on it.

I had Cakes & rxtools before going to menuhax. the sdcard had been binded to the files to turn on but won't turn on without sdcard. should I reformat my sdcard and start all over? I just used decrypt9 and ctr but my 2ds still won't boot up without sdcard in... I've even tried a new sdcard but won't boot up without the current files... *edit* it just booted without holding down L button

It's not supposed to boot up without the SD card in, if you've just installed a9lh. It requires the arm9loaderhax.bin to be present. You will be able to boot without the SD later, when you copy arm9loaderhax.bin to CTR NAND. If you just follow the guide you'll have no problems.

Just like quantum cat sead, you need the arm9loaderhax.bin on the root so you can chainload your payload bins in luma and then eventually you will be able to put it in your ctr NAND so you can boot it sdless.

I know that, but you can't say this is the cause if a9lh isn't booting To sysnand to load menuhax in the first place.
My point was that a9lh and menuhax/emunand can coexist. Typically on most cfws, holding L means loading emunand in place of sysnand.

He can't boot sysnand, he can only load emunand ("it only boots while pressing L")
