Cause i was in the market for one so of course they would go on sale a few days after i bought one. Lol. But they have sales like this quite frequently on ebay for the same price. Prolly just have too many and are trying to unload some.

Simply because it's ebay and the put it on sale so it will sell.

Note that a refurbished one is actually cheaper through Nintendo directly, if you're ok with refurbished and are planning on buying a Wii U.

I managed to get a wii u (console only) on ebay for £58 last night I already own a wii u on 5.5 so I have all the cables and gamepad already so it seemed like the cheapest way to (hopefully) guarantee a exploitable wii u.
Good luck on your hunt personally I think the wii u is a kickass system

likely the mario maker bundle could be already at 5.5 , also pay attention to the "rebundle" even if I doubt they update the firmware but with nintendo never say never...

Thanks Mech I ordered a black wii u it arrived today and I was pleasantly surprised to see 5.3.2E firmware and a couple of games from the previous owner already on there so I will be getting smash soon and having some fun with it
