Not even going to justify that, with a response.

Here's the problem.

Instructions. not. CLEAR. Though given the attitude I'm predictably getting, clearly either someone's found instructions I have not yet found, or you're just posting because you want to be disruptive.

NTR, by its nature, isn't very clear at all. Most of what I've found regarding streaming gameplay from the 3DS assumes NTR version 3.4... but the selector that is available via FBI's TitleDB, only allows for choosing 3.2, 3.3, and 3.6. On the face of it, it shouldn't matter, as long as it works. But none are.

Same with the cheats. it's being claimed that current NTR (which I can only assume is 3.6) can directly accept Gateshark codes. But while I get that it might need separate folders for each title, nobody explained where on the SD card those folders should be. A subfolder in the NTR directory? On the root of the SD card meant for the (N)3DS? So as it is, I can't even attempt to see if they work. And until I can confirm that at least NTR cheats are working, I'm not motivated to move on to B9S from A9LH. Is THAT perfectly clear enough?

Fairly clear, obviously we spent more time writing to you than you do reading or googling.

Google "3ds NTR cheat file structure".

Make a folder in the root of your sd card called plugin.

SD:\plugin\[Title ID of game}\cheatfile.plg

The streaming isn't perfect and relies a lot on your router. Slow router/PC CPU = Shitty Streaming,

Don't remove your EMU NAND from the SD. Ill show you how to fix it up and get GW running again if you like once you get updated to B9S and Luma 8.1.1...

You can get Gateway and Luma running on the same system. And NTR. There is no need to CHOOSE.
  • install B9S using the guide. Also updating your SYSTEM NAND <- Previously linked.
  • Get the "A9LH payload converted to B9S" From the "official Gateway Forum"
  • Install bootCTR9, set up the GW B9S payload to run using the L button at boot. <- Previously linked.
  • Selectively update your EMUNAND to a 11.6/11.2 hybrid to play current games and allow online access in Gateway mode. <- Previously linked.
As far as NTR cheats go..

You didn't use the mode-3 version of BootNTRselector did you? That's for o3ds. Streaming only works on n3ds.

You probably won't even read this. You could just update to B9S and install the "InScripted AIO" on that iso site in the "CFW Discussion" section

  • Backup EVERYTHING on your 3ds SD CARD.
  • Use GodMode9 to Format SD card (with EMUNAND)
  • Use GodMode9 to RESTORE EMUNAND using the backup you made BEFORE you went from A9LH to B9S
  • Setup BootCTR9 again with a new payload for GW. (Search for "gw payload converted for b9s" on the "Official Gateway Forum" super easy.) It's different from the one Quantum linked. I use this one and I know it works.)
Why format the SD card and recopy everything to it?

Why format the SD card and recopy everything to it?

Because, in this scenario, We need to move the EMUnand to the system nand (part of the 3ds guide) But I still want an emunand for Gateway. There is lots of ways to accomplish this. I choose to..
  1. BACKUP EMUnand and SD
  2. COMPLETE the guide. (moving EMU to SYS, will delete EMUnand partition and update to 11.6 in the process of the guide)
  3. FORMAT with godmode9 to make a new emunand.(the new emunand will be on 11.6 because the guide had you update your system in step 1)
  4. RESTORE EMUnand backup from step one (back to GW compatible 11.2)
  5. RESTORE content of SD(because the formatting in step 3 kills it)
  6. OPTIONALLY BOOT in to the EMUnand and delete everything you don't need specifically for GW to reduce the footprint.
  7. Do the partial update on the emunand to make a 11.2/11.6 hybrid (to get online, eshop, newest games)
THIS WAY he can keep his GW setup and have Luma with NTR, EShop and EVERYTHING FULLY FUNCTIONAL. Easier than making a new EMUnand and downgrading it. Especially if you're not the sharpest tool in the shed. Sysdowngrader and apps like that are not good for noobs who don't follow directions well.

Good on you for trying, still good info for people who look at this thread in the future.

Fair enough, The guide is missing the 11.2/11.6 EMUnand and the GW stuff. I know there is another Gateway guide, and the page I linked several times for the Franken Firmware creation. Both of them are missing information as well IMHO so I told the OP everything I think is important. I like the B9S payload I linked better than the one in the guide. It is a bit more stable for some reason. I really like the franken-firmware EMUnand. Restoring full online capability to GW is an important option if I am going to seriously use GW at all. I personally would keep a set of the different EMUnands backed up and use a Multi-EMUnand. I currently keep a stock backup safe and an 11.2/11.4 EMUnand, a 9.2 EMUnand and up to date SYSnand on my Gateway 3DS. I like to have all the options and maximum functionality. And IF its just for GW red card purposes the quick and dirty works great. No need for most of the other steps. More opportunities for noob errors and a slightly larger EMUnand footprint isn't necessary for only running .3ds games in your red card. The usual ridiculousness from the OP and certain others makes you dumb things down sometimes too. How much effort am I willing to give? To help someone run GW? Not much. He isn't even following directions, arguing and in general being a bad patient. Ill still try to answer his question effectively but I don't see a point in backing up the DsiWare tickets and all the odds and ends on the OP's GW ONLY NAND. It won't matter with strictly red card stuff and this guys is still bitching about going to B9S. I bet he has a WBFS Wii too...

Whelp, transitioning to B9S as I type this.

Asked a friend who was also doing this thing about this, and finally he was able to help answer what I was looking to find out.

I needed to put cheat files in a \plugin\[title ID#], with \plugin being on the root of the SD card. That's what I was asking all this time, @Quantumcat .

Exactly, one little blurb. There is never any good banter about Gateway. Just hate train propaganda. Who needs that shit? Politics shouldn't be a factor. Squeezing every bit of fun out of the console is the goal. Alienating people for using a device they bought when it was a good option and THE ONLY OPTION is a dick move. Especially when you you have one too! I would like to stress in no way do I recommend buying a GW. Use it if you got it. And right now I think my way is the best possible solution. I tried all the options. Use the 3ds.guide for the moving of the EMUnand. It's good. Or be lazy, it's just GW. I mentioned it earlier but InScripted's AIO from that ISO site is a work of art. It will get GW and EVERY other CFW going all in a drag-and-drop setup. Its really cool actually. Still need a EMUnand setup for GW. There is a bunch of features that are dangerous IF you are a moron/kid. Some need not apply...

I told you. SD:\plugin\[Title ID of game]\cheatfile.plg Must have me blocked? Dude, I told you DAYS ago. Sorry about your unfortunate intrarectalcranialitis.

I can read better than you, apparently.

It wasn't in the OP, or FAQ, of either NTR selector guide. It wasn't in the dev page(s) of either project. It wasn't in release notes from downloads (yes, I checked there, too). I had no reason to even believe the rumors were anything beyond that regarding it supporting GateShark cheats, either.

You assumed, and you chose to belittle me for it. You chose to have an attitude problem for it. You chose to be as salty as every Overwatch player for it. I made it abundantly clear that I was still unclear. I don't know what else to tell you.

... And now, just as I was about ready to start transferring the cheat files, one of my card readers decides to flip out. It just killed everything on the SD card meant for my N3DS. Trying to use Recuva and it's refusing to read it at all. What the HELL!?

I don't believe that you read English well. Or it's all an act. Some self serving attempt at comedy? How's the streaming going? Input redirection? Cheat path?? I have my friends 8 year old booting NTR, cheats and streaming while using the PS4 controller for input. It is in the tutorial section here like I told you. I got it going in 10 minutes. It was in the guide I posted. It was in the stripped down cherry picked guide I typed up! Just the steps for people who are afflicted with intrarectalcranialitis. It was in the guide Lillith posted. It was in 2 of my posts and Quantumcat quoted it, from me, TWICE! GOOGLE IT. I TOLD YOU TO GOOGLE NTR PLUGIN PATH. I knew back when you tried to rip me off for a console you were a jerk. Now I know that "Magic school bus" you are from is the short bus! Now IF you still have a question, I COULD answer it..

Maybe I was blocked the whole time. Last year around this time I was thinking about selling a brand new in box launch N3DS XL. I bought it for my GF but she doesn't use 3d mode and kept her o3ds. I asked on here how much to sell it for because it was 9.0 ips/tn and uncommon. Then he bothers me and tries to get me to sell it to him for $60. Says its obviously used. He was begging in the forum talking about paying a premium and then lowballs me like that? Then when I tell him no, I have a buyer, and it's legit he tries to say I am a theif and a bunch of bullshit. Total asshole about it. I hope he bricks. And my console WAS a brand new in box never touched launch n3ds, and I sold it for $300. Guy was happy as hell. I shouldn't help these fools. I hate when people ask an honest question on here and get a ration of shit. Gateway is just one topic that really invokes hate here. So fucking stupid. And then fools like chodezer0 show up and make it look like the GW Nazi brigade is right. Go away chodezer0. You bring down the board. GW team all ready garners enough hate around here. FWIW I was just fooling around with that AIO pack InScripted set up and it is lots of fun. GW users can set up easier with it. Just have an EMUnand set up and drag the package over. Tons of useful fun things to do. Even the OP might mostly be able to do it. Mostly...

Yet somehow you missed it being told to you multiple times and it being easily googleable to boot
If I were able to find it on Google, I would have already. But this isn't the first time I've had Google intentionally hide relevant results to me.

And right now I'm trying to figure out what the hell to do to recover my data here. Recuva won't even TRY to read it, and the only other program I found to work with SD cards won't even try to recover it, because "trial version only lets me recover four folders", or some other asinine limitation.

Google NTR plugin folder and every result I clicked on had the folder path, and full instructions in the beginning of the page. You asked for help instead of searching for yourself. Don't bother next time. Find it youself. And it should go to show, just because you ignore me doesn't mean you don't look like an ass. You can't see this more than likely and you probably won't understand it if you can read it. I hope your SD just failed. Karma is a bitch.

You didn't even need to google it anyway. You were told, and ignored it or somehow failed to read it.
