I was trying to mod my N3ds XL for wireless charging now it won't turn on at all I removed the wireless charging wires but it still won't turn on when I plug in the charger indicated that it charges but it won't boot not even in safe mode
Do what @Ominous66521 said to do. Try using NTRBoothax. That will truly tell you if you messed something up with the motherboard or if you fried the NAND. If it works, you most likely fried the NAND... If it doesn't, you're screwed.

I guess you could try ntrboothax just to be shure it has nothing to do with your NAND,otherwise it's your motherboard that's messed up.
-_- I just noticed my battery also died apparently when I shorted out my console I killed my battery as well I was looking at it today and it looks a bit rounder than normal and it feels a little bit puffy from The Middle... now I got to wait till tomorrow to try anything when my new battery comes in

OK, hopefully it works!! Good Luck! Oh and there is a possibility that it was just the battery.

If it works and you still want to do the charging mod, put your other battery in instead of the new one.

No? You don't keep charging and using swollen lithium batteries. Unless you like them catching on fire (possibly in your house or pocket)

I guess I should have specified... I meant use the battery to test it, and if it works use the new one.

(So you don't risk ruining another battery)

no it was definitely the motherboard + the battery because this motherboard actually tries to charge the battery and when I try to power it on it gives me a fast red light indicating the battery is dead and it doesn't turn on before I swap out the motherboard's I wasn't getting any reaction when I would try to charge the battery before or plug in the charger it would charge for 10 seconds then it wouldn't do anything and when I would press power I wouldn't get a reaction...na I'm done screwing around with soldering lesson learned

oh my glob I tried charging the old battery for about an hour earlier glad that it didn't explode

update... brand new motherboard that I took off a brand new 3DS XL... and the brand new battery that came in today still no luck N3DS does not respond when I plug it into the charger it stays charging the battery and when I push the power button it gives me a fast red light but nothing else happens.. I thought a new motherboard and battery would fix the issue :/ I guess I have to save up to buy a brand new one

Try to put the battery in half way. (Put it in and then take the end out a little bit.) Sometimes the prongs on the motherboard and the battery don't like to connect all the way. I had a problem like this and that seemed to work. Make sure ALL of the screws are tight.

EDIT: If that seems to work, slowly push the battery all the way in. If it turns off, make sure that the motherboard and the screws are tight.

Nobody mentioned that the n3ds charging daughterboard could be fried?

That's pretty common with shorts on the n3ds xl, the board that has the A B X Y buttons, a lot cheaper to replace too.

It's been ages since I modded any kind of device..

But it's worth noting, that you might've "just" blown a fuse.

Happened all the time with my DS Phat (even bought a bunch of fuses, just in case heh)

EDIT:

Good to see you fixed it.

was this because you had the battery in while you soldered?

now I want to do this but your backfire is intimating.

necro reply loo

actually no my battery was pulled out I think what fried it is that I had my wireless charger charging and like an idiot I decided to see what would happen if I plugged in my wired charger at the same time that the wireless one was running the thing just turned off and apparently everything got fried
