That's because B9S injects into boot process and boots from SDCard, Sighax boots changed firmware. That's a big difference if you ask me.
so sighax is like the thing where people were all hyped about being able to have "true CFW" from the NAND back when it was unveiled (spoiler alert: Luma3DS is a true CFW, there's nothing special to differentiate the two, and CFW installed on NAND could have been implemented if we wanted to back with A9LH).

spoiler alert: Luma3DS is a true CFW
pretty sure it's just patches
but yes, true cfw was possible with a9lh

For some, it's worth it. It's 100% true CFW and some might risk it, some might not.
But once it's installed, no reverting back.

This " TRUE CFW " bs needs to stop already, it has been explained many times that " 100% true cfw " was already possible with a9lh, just no one implemented it yet. If AuroraWright hasn't implemented it yet i don't know who else will come out of nowhere from the shadows to release this famous and non existent true cfw. It won't matter at the end if you have native sighax or boot9strap because with both you would be able to run true cfw. You can read more about it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/3dshacks/comments/67f6as/psa_clearing_up_some_misconceptions_about_sighax/

not as simple when Derrek leaves incredibly vague instructions
Sure but he also did not provide a "target_firm.bin" and explicitly said not to flash something random or you'd brick. At some point before replacing something that is required for the console to work, you might want to ask yourself if this random file that I had to rename is actually what this is intended to be used on.
