I want a switch XL.

The puny little joy cons remind me of the INVERSE of the original Xbox controllers that were so huge they had to make the S-type to make it usable to anyone other than a giant.

The switch screen is too small and the controllers too fiddly.

Roll out a SWITCH-MEGA!
I can't see that ever happening. Just buy a pro controller and play it like a regular home console if everything is too small for you.

This wont happen, it just doesn't make sense to strip away one of the core features of the switch basically turning it into a ps vita. If they release anything else it would MAYBE be a "slim" version, a switch with no bezels, keeps the same screen size, a bit thinner, it would come with its own dock and be compatible with all current joycons. Also i could see Nintendo making "Pro" joy-cons or something like that with bigger joysticks, a d-pad, and maybe slightly bigger abxy buttons. Also the smaller one in the picture doesn't look like it would fit in the switch dock at all, it would definitely need a new dock.

Is there any reputable source for this rumor? Because I can pretty much guarantee it's bullshit. The only available room inside Switch is there for proper airflow, so shrinking it at all is impossible unless they decide to use a different SoC, in which case it may not be powerful enough to play the same games designed for the same system. 3DS is still being supported, and Switch in its current form is generating a fuckton of demand, so I don't think Ninty is anxious to change anything up right now.

Sure, but at least with the Wii U when people were saying a month after release that Nintendo was doomed with the system, there was genuine good reason and logic to be saying such a thing. At this moment, there really is no good reason to say the Switch is a failure and that Nintendo is doomed with it. I can understand the attitude of being cautious and wary for the future of the system, but to say definitively that its future is doomed at this moment makes so little sense. It'd be like if after watching the first quarter of a football game where your team is winning by 3 touchdowns, and your friend turns to you and says, this game is over, our team is clearly going to lose.

i love the switch but currently it's super difficult to recommend it to others. very small amount of game library currently, highprice point when compared to ps4/xbox1.
it all depends on e3.

My point is not at all related to what the system currently has, and only relates to how successful the system has sold so far.

I have said from the beginning I expect dock-less versions at some point. Maybe in a year or two, one the size of the Vita and another the size of the New 3DS minus the second screen. I can see them making the games' launcher Chromecast compatible. Possibly selling an upgraded dock with chromecast builtin. Those with the original switch are not left out and everyone won't need a separate chromecast 2/ultra hooked to the tv by purchasing said dock. Plus adds the possibility to sell 3DS and DS titles on the switch. But I also expect Nintendo to sell a n64/gbfamily cartridge reader for the switch's dock

So has anybody actually confirmed this yet?
I'm calling bullshit until I see a legit source XD

But I doubt they could possibly make the switch smaller. Because if they could have, they would have, then sell a larger model later. take a look at their previous consoles.

Gba-gb micro

Dsi-dsixl

And the rest of the XL series, you know.

Plus I'm sure a smaller model would decrease production costs if it kept the same hardware

the amount it sells now is meaningless

wii-u was alsoo selling good for first 3 months

How is it meaningless to my main point? To recap, since you seem to be struggling to understand what I've been saying here: Right now is the dumbest time for people to be spouting the "Nintendo is doomed!" rhetoric, as right now, they have just had their most successful system launch ever. If you want to be wary of the future of the system, sure, you can do that. But to look at how Nintendo is currently doing at the moment and to declare them to be doomed right now, would stand as one of the (if not the) least logical of times to be saying such things and celebrating about it. Imagine if McDonald's just launched their fastest selling new burger which drives up overall sales of McDonalds in general; would it make any sense to look at that success and say, McDonald's is so screwed right now?! Of course not.

If you want to make this about how you have doubt for the future of Nintendo and the Switch, then by all means, have at that, but don't pretend that their success right now means that they're screwed. Or if you want to keep pretending that, then I'm sure you'll understand why I wont keep engaging in conversation with such a backwards way of thinking.

Whoever you're talking to is on my ignore list making the conversation a bit one-sided. Just add him to yours and drop it.

no1 is saying nintendoomed here, but it's still 2 early to tell if it will be a success or not. nintendo is not in a position to let it fail either, they have to work super hard to ensure switch keeps selling.

I want Switch XL would have holographic screen that can project graphic like when docked anywhere.

If Switch mini then they better have GBA color one because I won't buy anything else.
