IF you are gonna play a LEGO game, play this one.

It's the best Lego game I have ever played,
Did 100% wiiU version having a blast!
I would love to, but it is too expensive.
I played a little on Wii U and it was good, but for a port I don't want to pay over 50€. Something more like 40€ would be Ok.

I cant see retailers making much when nintendo themselves are charging £59.99, i have no idea why the fuck the robbing bastards are also charging the same price for the wii u version.

https://store.nintendo.co.uk/games/nintendo-switch/the-legend-of-zelda-breath-of-the-wild.list

The UK Nintendo Store is run by The Hut Group so it's a bit different than being officially run by Nintendo. LCU for Switch can be pre-ordered for £34ish at Smyths Toys.

It's as close as I'll probably get to GTA on the Switch so... Who knows when Shakedown is arriving...
Who knows. Maybe there'll be something closer to GTA on NS than this.

Update patch? What kind of updates would a game need if the game was finished like over 4 years ago? O_O

Unless is DLC or something, a complete game wouldn't need any patches.
I personally think it's more like loading packs to make the game run faster, such as what Nintendo did with Xenoblade X. If LCU runs as slow as on the WiiU version (very much doubt it, it's on a card) then that would suck!

here is one of the problems the switch will do itself over.

why would anyone pay more for an old port, why would anyone pay more for a title if its new and cheaper on other systems (other systems will have better graphics).

this is some of the things ive said about, third parties will be lacking.... when the excitement of this copied idea dies down, sit and watch it all repeat itself.

Because why not !? and just a guess you can take the game with you or you only got a switch or .... ;)
You could ask the same for every Multi platform title that have a PC release. PC games are almost always way cheaper and PC's have more power under the hood if you dont know.

Actually I would be OK paying that for some ports I would really like, but not for any game.

Even if it feels like shit to pay YET AGAIN (hell, I suppose people that didn't get the Wii U don't feel this), I would gladly pay that YET AGAIN for Xenoblade X, Mario Kart 8, Tokyo Mirage (would you believe that), Smash 4... But well, even MK8DX is coming with some discount (58€ final tax included against the standard 70€).

So, while I would pay full price for a port of Xenoblade X, I wouldn't for Lego CU, I suppose I am not fan enough to put my money there.

Because of convenience. Like nixx already stated, PC games are (potentially) superior to their console counterparts. You won't have to worry about backwards compatibility and in the future it will run in 1080p60 on a potato. So why bother buying it for a home console? Because of the convenience of putting the game into the system and loading it without any effort. You buy the game and you can be sure it will work.

Unfortunately even modern consoles require installs for certain games nowadays, which still is more convenient than finding out IF the game will run on your mid-end laptop or how well it will fare. The Switch, however might even skip installs altogether using cartridges instead of optical media. And what's worth more? A fun game you can take on the go or a visual game (I refrain from calling console graphics beautiful, since I'm used to better graphics, sorry, peasants :P) you can only play at home.

Well, Nintendos policy is to not charge less for the eShop version than the retail version. You can see this as greedy behaviour as well as actual support for retailers, since those can still drop prices. Got BotW for 57€ on launch day instead of 69,99€. Or 1-2 Switch for 35€ instead of 49,99€. So how does this fit into your picture, if you think that retailers can't even profit from list prices?

So are people saying that even though games aren't on a card, loading times are just as bad as Disc devices?
Theoretically, games on cards/catridges should have little to no loading times if they were developed properly for the system like on the old days. Take the loading times from Mario Kart 7 as an example, they're reasonably fast and that's how games should always be or even better!

Zelda:BotW is a game badly ported for the Switch as Nintendo clearly rushed it but had they took their time, the loading times would have been super quick and the framerate would also have been much MUCH better.

figured it was wording.

The lego dimensions had an update that was pretty big. (maybe not thta big was for my little cusin and they have slow internet)
But this was to unlock stuff from one of the amiiboish player he brought.

So i figured the lego would be like that kinda like free dlc that you would download if wanted.
But cool its not.
I dont plan to buy it tho, ill pass just not my type of game.

Well i mean updates will come for the game so i suppose we can expect improvements. :)

Though that was my idea in the first place is that loading times would be faster since is a cart. But even classic games had loading times (in disguise) Micky mania on snes had loading times, and street fighter alpha 2, and i think star ocean and tales of phantasia had loading times, all on snes. Besides that i think a update will come and fix some issues with breath of the wild. It wouldn't make sense to do what they did with xenoblade chronicles X and have download data for faster loading times.

If anything, i was surprised most wii u games didn't have such a feature, even ps3 and xbox games had that install data option to speed up load times in games, kinda silly only one wii u has anything close to it. Somehow i think the system wasn't meant for the game but they wanted to do it anyway, they should have waited for the switch or maybe downscaled it. :teach:

this is the only Lego game in the last couple of years I've truly wanted to play since everyone raved how good it was back when it was released on Wii u. Already preordered on Amazon. It's good that this was proven false about the download, goes to show that anyone will do anything to get five seconds of internet fame.

portability

portability, sure pay more for a title thats cheaper on other systems.

@Axido Superior? to what?

It cant compete against PS4/XBX1, i would take a very good guess that if you took Zelda which is 8GB @£60, and had a game with highly detailed models/textures it would up the total size and would need a larger card which will cost more.

I cant see your theory of superior when even capcom have stated it wouldnt release RE7 because the switch has unique hardware.... basically putting it that its hardware is not capable of them been able to port.
