Gaming I've been using loadiine for a couple years now, but breath of wild has 40,000 files.

thing is, I'm kind of slow to figure this stuff out.
right now I am hosting
loadiine.gx2beta.v0.2
homebrew.launcher.v1.1
loadiinekernal.mp4

on my home network. if I can figure out how to host the updated versions of these for 5.5.1 before friday then I will update, if I cannot find them though I probably won't.
I don't want to just rely on loadiine.ovh I want my own copies of these...

This page has loadiine gx2 http://loadiine.ovh/gate.php?cat=downloads
and i think payload.php is the same as my old loadiinekernal.mp4 same file either way yes?
only this new payload will work on the web browser of 5.5.1 whereas my old payload the loadiinekernal.mp4 only worked on 5.4.0?

Regardless of firmware, do you not have the app store installed on homebrew? Every app, including loadiine, can all update from it. Once you go allow your Wii U to update from Nintendo firmware 5.5.1 (which is still the most recent firmware to this day), just re-block the updates, firewall, etc. and then you should be good. I was extremely hesitant too, but you really ought to do it now before the BotW day. I just went and bought the DS VC game on the eShop today just in case, and re-blocked everything. Everything is still fine and running 5.5.1. First thing, update to 5.5.1 through Nintendo, then re-block everything, then download the appstore app for homebrew.

When I set this up two years ago there wasn't an app store installed for homebrew as far as I knew. Either way though I always ran loadiine off my desktop home network. I haven't updated loadiine since version 0.2 beta. It was quite new then.

Like I don't really know much about homebrew or appstore, and I'm not sure you feel like explaining it slowly to me, but if I replace the files on my sdcard and desktop computer home server with the loadiine gx2 version nightly build from loadiine.ovh if that will work same as before with no other steps or changes at all, I'd be willing to update to 5.5.1 and figure out cfw's app stores, spoofs, sysnand, sigpatches and all that in the coming weeks/months.

Update to 5.5.1. Use custom DNS to block updates. Spend $6.99 on a DS game. Install Haxchi over it. Once you verify haxchi works just fine, install CBHC over that. Then you will load patched sysmenu every time and can easily install HomeBrew Launcher as a channel.

This vid has links in the description. The first one has the homebrew launcher and the app store included in it. You should just dump that right on the SD card and override what's on there now with it... Unfortunately, I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean by using the home server.. do you not have your Wii U games on your SD card itself? Cause that's how I currently have it set up.

Regardless, the least you can do is go ahead and update to 5.5.1 while you can!

I don't want to do the 80 steps you guys are suggesting, basically i've got a small version of loadiine.ovh hosted on my desktop computer, only it only hosts homebrewlauncher and loadiine gx2.

I've been using that just fine for 2 years, I'd like to continue using it. The reason I never updated from 5.4.0 to 5.5.1 is because it would break my setup. I found up to date files at http://loadiine.ovh/gate.php?cat=downloads for loadiine gx2 and homebrew launcher, I downloaded those put them on my home server instead.

The only question I have is can I do these steps:
update to 5.5.1
use the new version of loadiine gx2 just like I used to use the old version
play games.

If I have to follow a video and do 80 steps and buy a game install, haxachi, cbhc or sysemu or any of that, i'm not interested. My current setup works 100% of the time. If updating my current setup's files is enough, then I'll do it. If updating my current files though won't work with 5.5.1 because of "reasons" I'm not interested in IOSU or sysemu or any of that, loadiine gx2 version 0.2beta already lets me play any game ever. There's absolutely no way I'm going to comprehend a dozen other hacks before friday.

Download Kaflukes self hosting files. They have been updated & include updated version of Loadiine/HBL/Mocha files ready to self host. All you need to do is update to 5.5.1 & block updates & carry on as you did previously on 5.4.1. Only difference would be is that you'll be on 5.5.1, Everything else will be the same (But now you'll be able to play BOTW, Even if it slow AF in Loadiine).

If you're ok with the possibility of Breath of the Wild not playing smoothly via loadiine, then I'd just stick with your current setup. I bought a WiiU for my kids (and I) mainly for BotW. And now, I'm gonna do what I can to make sure it'll run as well as possible via usb.

well svejk that's why I want to get this self hosting update worked out. so I can confidently update. then if performance on breath of the wild sucks I can figure this usb stuff out next week (even if nintendo updates to 5.5.2 or something).

I'm not even going to play zelda until saturday, I got this wiiu mostly for guests at my house. If performance on zelda sucks this weekend I'll worry about fixing it next week. thanks @BIFFTAZ that's basically exactly what I wanted. Just the new files, keep the outdated and idiotic methods, because well, I'm used to them.

"1-6-2017 - This method is outdated. With HaxChi and cold boot CFW there is no reason to self host anymore. I won't be updating this any further."

katfluke says that, and well I see, that's probably true, that's why everyone keeps suggesting it to me, but I'm old and set in my ways, and if selfhosting with internet disabled is what I've done for years, well I'll keep doing it until I have a reason to risk changing. I have a pretty high end sdmicro card so maybe zelda will be bearable, if not, I'll watch that video read up on cfw's next week. thanks guys. I know my request was sort of dumb, but thanks.

Yeah, All you'll be doing is updating your hosting files & updating your system firmware, These things you will not really notice & wont change your setup too much. I was suborn & wanted to keep Loadiine because it just worked for me. But I must say that USB loading via the "Brazilian" method is far superior & you can still self host (100% offline) the needed files by launching Mocha CFW from Kaflukes self hosting package. By the time you get use to the different method using CFW, Its a breeze just like Loadiine, If not easier ;)

Getting loadiine to work the first time was pretty tough for me, I've never "hacked" anything before. Now that I know how it works it takes me like 5 seconds. Thanks for understanding and giving me what I wanted, even though what I wanted was dumb :)

Make sure to go to the Loadiine thread & HBL thread to update these 2 apps if you havent already because Kaflukes package uses the latest file available. Maybe checkout Loadiine y Mod too because that version can load DLC. http://www.wiiubru.com/appstore/#/app/loadiine_gx2_y

Just to let you know incase you ask, These wont change your setup either.

"because kaflukes package uses the latest file available." that means I don't have to check anything else out though right? did you mean to say he DOESN'T use the latest file available? in which case I should get them from somewhere else?

No, Loadiine & HBL that go inside of wiiu/apps/ on your SD card, Just make sure they're updated is all. Kaflukes package is ready to go as long files on your SD card in wiiu/apps/ are updated to the latest verion.

Oh yeah, I did that. katflukes pack had a folder called "SD CARD" I figured it out from there. All taken care of. Just filling up my sdcard with new games. Got about 10gb left. Then it's firmware update time downstairs.

Best use HBL 1.4 and not 2.1, I've heard people are having issues with 2.1.

whelp, now that i'm on firmware 5.5.1 the old loadiine files definitely don't work, and when I tried to load the new files as .php it said unable to load, when i renamed them as .mp4 it said they weren't videos, so I guess 5.5.1's browser doesn't let you rename php's as mp4's in order to load them.

I guess I need a new set of steps to turn loadiine on, other than just clicking the folder. I guess I need to run some sort of browserhax first?

You need to update all your files for it to work.

I did update all my files, but maybe I need to clear browser cache, I didn't do that, usually I don't need to, but after an update of files I probably should.
BRB

I only put the loadiinegx2 and hbl files on my desktop webserver and i'm not using xampp i'm using a simpler one, so that could be the issue, the new hack might require actually hosting html files and not just clicking the hack payload.

edit2: nevermind, works perfectly, I just deleted all that html crap and just browsed the folder and clicked on the payload551.mp4 and it worked.
