If you just want to use a single ips, sure, but I find that I need more of them, and currently you only have to extract the code file from the update itself, not the game, meaning no game dumping and extraction, just about 5 minutes of digging through Godmode9.
yep and some of us have had issues with that not working, for some reason godmode9 reads the exefs.bin as a file (the guide says to go into it and select code.bin?)
anyway I marged the IPS files I wanted only took like 30 seconds, got it up and running now

I have been looking for the no outlines and instant text patches for Pokemon Sun 1.0. Anyone know where I can find it? I'm trying to use it with Rising Sun.

Sorry to bother but when I try and download the Batcher my computer detects it as a Trojan Virus and I was wondering if the program is safe or not.
It's safe, false positives for .exe files can get picked up too much. Make sure your Anti-Virus adds this as an exception. I read an article today about an ex-Mozilla dev that recommended uninstalling your AV and sticking with Defender if you're on Windows. I'm starting to consider that.
Your Anti-Virus is probably removing it on sight. Turn off real-time protection, add the .exe file as an exception, or just straight up uninstall your AV.
it wont let me download or run the batch file i tried on two computers one windows 7 64 bit one windows 10 64bit any help?

To use it, place code.bin(no more rename! Just code.bin) in the same directory as the executable.
notice: the code bin file has to be the unmodified version. (original dump)
code.ips should gen in the luma/titles/"titleid"/ directory
Patches.rar contains 14 mono feature ips files as below listed.
1. no outlines
2. Guarantee Catch
3. all pokemon rename-able
4. instant message display
5. quick hatch
6. AlwaysShinyForNotLockedPM
7. walking/running speed *1.375 constantly. according to other speed hack user's posts, beyond 1.375 is not SAFE(through the wall etc...)
8. Disable ingame NFC (wifi won't be cut off after connected. no more festival plaza or suspend the game when you try to video record your game or use pkmn-ntr debugger)
9. SaltySD (https://github.com/shinyquagsire23/SaltySD)
10. PC Anywhere (overwrite the default Options/Setting menu)
11. walk Through Wall
