Actually, you *can* have custom themes without CFW.

My boyfriends both literally had the same ban and I was able to remove this error code with that method.

If we consider the main premise of this post to be true i find it extremely ironic how Nintendo doesn't seem to ban CFW users but if you just happen to hack a perfect pikachu in your Pokemon game your gone.

Did some research and it turns out you were mostly right. This does allow online access, but doesn't fix the NNID ban that comes with it. So basically the OP is screwed.

Afaik, that 022-2501 is if they use the patched Luma to remove the 022-2812. Also, the code for game bans is NOT 022-2812. That's for the NNID. 002-0102 is the game ban code, that CAN be lifted using a clean friend code seed.

I edited my post after doing some research into this issue. And it appears you were right. That was my bad and I do apologize for proving incorrect information.

If that were true, I would've been banned ages ago for genning Pokémon, as would most sellers at Perfect Pokémon kek

I think the OP most likely went online during the Pokemon leak and waited until now to say something in the hopes that we would have a method around the ban. I say this because I can't find any history of that error code being used until the Pokemon Ban wave. And to really check I did a custom Google search and went all the way to the end

no i preordered the game and waited untill the uk release and if i was was banned before i wouldnt have pokemon sun (i got it this month on the 7th)

Not to mention, 022-2812 is not an NNID ban, so it couldn't have been from another device such as a Wii U. It's just an NNID restriction for the specific banned device afaik.

Actually 022-2812 existed before Pokemon Sun/Moon prerelease ban.

It is a hyperbanned that bans your device and NNID, and the handful of players got it for going amuck constantly on miiverse.

Dude, I can't find this code being used for anything, but the Pokemon Ban wave. You don't have to play innocent with us, we aren't Nintendo and have no links with Nintendo. This error code didn't exist before the leak and hasn't been used since the leak.
Did you buy your system second hand?

Actually, I have the impression it *was* present before, as when it happened, some linked to some old thread with that error code, either way, it doesn't matter.

It was most likely used before with people playing leaked games online. But I have been searching since this thread was opened and I am not finding anything. This code seems to be only be linked to the ban wave from the Pokemon Leak.

Regardless, the OP is SOL. Since all records point to this being a permaban.

Regardless of how you got banned, all records seems to show this as a perma ban. You can try to call Nintendo directly to see if they can explain to situation. Or cut your losses and buy a new system and get a new NNID.

I do believe it existed before hand, but I am just not finding anything made before the ban wave. I could be wrong, but considering the OP's vague nature, it seems safe to say they are trying to hide their activity.
Right now, I am just connecting dots to things that make sense. Either the OP was banned for having too many posts removed or they banned for going online with Pokemon Sun/Moon leak.
No matter what happened, they are still banned and there's nothing they do, but buy a new system.

My post was actually not correct on the method to fix this. As my previous post mentioned, bypassing only resulted in another ban.
