When the Virtual Console launched on the Wii, exactly a decade ago (3 days from now, to be exact) it was an awesome service and Nintendo gave us 2-3 games per week until around late 2008-early 2009. However when the 3DS and Wii U consoles came out, not only did none of them launch with VC games (both consoles took months for VC games to be added to their eShops) they released less VC games, only an average of 1, sometimes 2 games a week. Then there was that time from February 2015 to February 2016 when they released the Donkey Kong Land trilogy and then we didn't get any VC games for the rest of 2015. It wasn't until February 2016 until Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow were released and later SNES games exclusively for New 3DS models, did we would get more VC games for the 3DS. I really hope the Switch has VC support at least 1-2 months after it launches. I mean they have to test them and that could take awhile, maybe that's why it took months for the 3DS and Wii U, where the Wii had them already prepared by November 2016, when it launched. They also need to transfer every type of VC platform from both 3DS and Wii U; NES, SNES, N64, GB, GBC, GBA, DS, TG-16, and GG and if possible, Wii (Not sure how the Wiimote and numbchuck would work with the NS, but I'm sure they could pull it off since you just de-attach the controller). Given that they only release Wii VC games, I'm pretty sure they'll be on the NS, but will require a Wiimote and/or numbchuck for most games, but a few like Xenoblade Chronicles will use the NS gamepad. They also need to add GCN, SAT, DC, and later down the road, 3DS games to their service. I know 3DS games won't come for about 2-4 years since they're still making new 3DS games. But just like how the Wii U got DS VC games, I'm pretty sure the NS will get 3DS games when they fully discontinue the 3DS. I couldn't image the NS without any Virtual Console support. I know Wii U games will never be BC since that would require hardware emulations, which the NS lacks, but having almost every one of Nintendo's past consoles (excluding the Wii U and Virtual Boy) would really awesome! I just hope we go back to having 2-3 games a week, like we did during the Wii era!
