Hello. I have a 11.1 o3ds xl europe region. I accidentally updated from 4.5.0 to 11.0 months ago. I still have the nand backup though. I was reading about the nand hardmod noob friendly tutorial and somehow i can understand it but i am so anxious about doing it. I mean. If i just solder the wires on dat0 cmd and clk and that other port(which i dont remember rn) and hen also solder them on a sd card adapter and plug it in the pc will i be alble to restore the nand with that nand app.
Also what kinds of glue do i need. Do normal electric wires work?

Somebody please explain this to me and tell me an easy way how to do it. Please :(

You don't need a permanent Hardmod if you don't want it. But there is no other way then soldering the 4 wires and get a working card reader which you are using then.

Hardmod requires you got solder experience.

Then when wires are soldered correctly and you get the bootscreen you can write your backup back to the Nand.

I would do a backup of the 11 Firm as well. Who knows if the old backup works.

If you aren't confident, don't do it. It's not super-simple.

I got wires with butt connectors on them but they were far too thick to leave attached and close up the 3DS, so I had to remove the hardmod afterwards, which is more soldering and therefore more potential to break something.

Actually, I damaged the ribbon cable for the touchscreen's digitiser when I did my hardmod (long story) though I managed to fix it in the end.

Anyway, if you have to ask these questions, such as what type of wire you need to use, I recommend reconsidering.

One more thing! What kind of wire do i need. I have an old pc power supply will it work if i cut the thin wires from it?
The O3DS XL is way easier than an O3DS but I'd still not attempt this if you haven't previously soldered stuff like modchips. This comes from my personal experience when I was 15yo and I thought "hey, by looking at these pics modding a PS2 looks easy enough, I'll do it myself!" - spoiler: it wasn't. Heck, I ended up lifting some pads from a PS2 years later because of a bad soldering iron, even if I had the required experience by then.

Unless you have experience with soldering on circuit boards with very small pads this wont be easy.
You should look for hardmod guides for your console on this forum. Everything will be explained there, but its still not easy. Even opening the 3ds is harder than most people think.
The cables should have a single wire with the size of 0.25 mm diameter, also called AWG 30. A little smaller or bigger is also ok. You can find these cables in micro USB calbes for example.

@Xdqwerty No you heard wrong, and don't believe till you experience yourself. Fallout 4 is one of my favorite games of all time. Yes it had issues early on, esp with older hardware like the xbox1, but it is awesome, esp now being 4k on Series S/X or PS5

@BigOnYa, Then i think people were talking about fallout 76

    that one was buggy too
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea you right there, fallout 76 was a letdown, but it not that bad now, they have fixed slot of issues they had at launch. Biggest issue with Fallout 76 is its a pay to advance further type of game, which sucks
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
