I've been working on the encoder again lately, and I've been able to really improve some parts. The size of the frames has decreased aswell, so that's nice.

Still, there are some parts which are hard to implement, because I don't really have much experience with coding video encoders. If you DO have such experience, of if you know people who do, I would like to talk with you/them.

The problem with this stuff is, that there are so many possible configurations, that it becomes very hard to find the best quality/size ratio.
Nice to hear your working on the encoder again! Sadly enough me nor anyone I know has any experience with video encoders...
"...experience, of if..." Your Dutch is showing XD

I've made some more progress on the encoder. I implemented a better inter prediction algorithm that allows to partition the block up to 2x2 blocks with each a different motion vector. It really results in much better quality. It, however, makes the files much bigger, because of all the motion vectors that have to be encoded. I need to make something that calculates the number of bits required for every encoding mode, to make the best quality/size decision.

Hi Gericom,

Do you have the ability to remux the moflex files?
There are a couple of "undub" games, such as SMT4, that are still incomplete until we have that ability. We need to combine the video stream from the english game with the audio stream from the japanese game for each of the moflex files.

Thanks!

Is there a way to convert .moflex videos into .mp4? I know there is a mobiconverter.exe, but I don't know how make it work :s

So um.... despite everything that has happened to the SDK opening up in the past two weeks (which can't be used for this tool, I'm not stupid), is this still ongoing?

Would be nice to have access to a legal moflex encoder that doesn't require me to sign a NDA.

Hi
First of all let me thank you for your work! I've tried the player and it works flawlessly on MOC5 files I have
It would be wonderful if you could release a converter... many thanks!

Wouldn't know about Win10 since I never used, but the code is compiled as-is from GitHub. I can vouch that nothing was modified.
If you're still paranoid you can always compile it yourself, I only posted it because people were asking for it.

What kind of error are you getting anyway? Because for example when running the tool through Cygwin it didn't work for me but runing it from regular windows commandline works fine.

@SylverReZ, atleast wiimmfii went fine although people only use it for Mario kart Wii

At least if they ban you for cheating, get another Wii. They're cheap as chips.

    not really
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
It got shutdown because somebody "accidentally" leaked the database for the amount of people using the beta.

RiiShop is the laziest way of downloading Wii games. Did somebody not think of this through?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced

    Brb
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
ngl i feel like if a bunch of my friends have wiis and know how to get wiimmfi and back up their NAND, then we could do a PMEX Remix tournament
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
maybe even add UMVC3/DBFZ and make it a biathlon/triathlon
