Not really, it's still software / Hardware. It's all prone to brick, that's why it comes with a big ass warning label lol.
Scenario:
Using a fake sd card, card decides it's going to crap out in the middle of writing to the NAND, software locks up, console bricks.
Scenario 2:
User does not have 3ds plugged in so it has steady power source, battery dies, etc....
Scenario 3:
Software just decides to freeze.
You still have to downgrade to 9.2, all this really does is save a lot of time from making backups, etc.
