Your files look totally uncorrupted to me... some of them are, indeed, named with English alphabet letters in the original, 100% correct file.

If you very strongly believe, however, that your issues with viewing support conversations come from corrupted filenames, attempt Google Translating as described previously. Otherwise, you can run with Japanese locale, though as I said-- your files look totally 100% okay to me. I see you are running some sort of Mac OS, so I don't personally know anything about using a Japanese locale there? Here is a link to a neato locale tutorial I found, though. After completing this tutorial, you can usually just right click=>"Run with Japanese Locale" on your unzipping program, open up your Gay Fates folder within, and re-unzip away.

@U is a folder exclusive to the European version, as the original questioner specified. If you have the NA version of Fates, delete the @U folder you made. Keep everything in @E and leave it at @E-- the @E folder is literally the same folder as @U, but localized for a North American locale.

I see that you are using the folder for the Special Edition of Fates (fefatesSE). Confirm that you do, indeed, own the special edition of Fates that is all three games (Birthright, Conquest, and Revelations) on one game cartridge. If not, regardless of whether you are playing a Revelations/Birthright/Conquest file, use the folder that is labeled with the game cartridge that you own. For digital-only versions, this should be the first game that you purchased.

(I ask only because the Special Edition is a little rarer than other game versions, and. Well. You would not be the first person to mistakenly use the folder because they wanted to patch Revelations. Totally guilty of this myself.)

According to UV's readmore, both "plugin" and "fefatesSE" should be in the root of your SD card, i.e. not in any other folders. I have no idea if you have any sort of custom setup, though.

If everything checks out from this troubleshooting list, make sure that your hacking programs are all working fine... like there isn't something wrong with your NTR CFW, or that you have the correct game selected, or that you haven't mistakenly been clicking the wrong program (sounds dumb, but it happens to me all the time). Please keep in mind that certain conversations have not been added to the patch yet, because they must be manually written!

Hope this helps! : )
Well worry not, I wasn't the one who had any problems - I merely read your earlier post and wanted to confirm I didn't have any issues. I'm actually running Windows 10, just with Clover, which patches Chrome-style tabs into explorer.exe. It's remarkably convenient. Fortunately, I do indeed have the special edition of fates (dumped via uncart), but I'm glad to know I don't need to worry about anything else however. I appreciate all the help, it'll be very helpful if I run into any trouble or if others do, thanks!

Also with regards to creating a CIA with the revelations patch, uh, patched in, it's pretty simple. Decrypt your fates.cia with decrypt9, and then extract the CIA with Asia81's hacking toolkit. Ensure that your CIA contains no special characters (i.e. no spaces!). Then just copy in the relevant files, create a .3ds ROM with the aforementioned patching toolkit, and convert to a .cia. You'll have to recreate the .3ds rom and reconvert every time there is an update.

Note that by building a modified CIA you cannot access online services! You cannot update data nor engage in wireless battles or the like. I didn't get a chance to test streetpass though, which would probably work. Regardless, patching the game with NTR will allow you to retain online access however.

It's a bit of a pain to launch NTR every time you boot admittedly.

Has anyone tested out what hapens if you marry Kaden or Keaton to someone who has a kid (besides Azura)? You get shadowbanned for having too many beast units, so does that go into effect if you made, say, Soleil a Wolfskin and used her online?

I'm having some difficulty with HANS. I followed the instructions in the video and got Homebrew installed using OOT3D but I keep getting Romfs path (invalid). I'm fairly new to hacking and using HANS so I'm not sure what I did wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is how my SD card looks right now

Maybe the files are corrupted? I triple checked each one and they don't seem to be.
Sorry for the long post.

Good point, but I think it's probably fine? If the game's ban-limit includes Azura's kid, wouldn't Soleil or whoever just fit within the limits the same way? It's not like you can get Azura's kid AND Soleil to both inherit the class, so the total possible number shouldn't actually be any higher.

I think your problem may be the file needs to be the last 8 digits only. (The one in the Hans folder) It's the problem I had so worth a shot.

From how it sounds, the ban only expands to include Azura's kid IF she's married to Kaden or Keaton. As in,
  • If Kaden isn't married, you're allowed only one Kitsune
  • If Kaden is married, you're allowed up to two Kitsune
  • If Kaden is married to Azura or Corrin, you're allowed up to three Kitsune
  • If Kaden is married to Azura, and Corrin is married to Shigure or Selkie, you're allowed up to four Kitsune
Basically, even though a total of four kitsune are legitimately possible, the limit isn't four by default. But I'm not sure if that third criteria is only "if married to Azura or Corrin" or if it's as general as "if married to someone who has a child unit"

I think you mean either Kaden or Wolfskin because Kaden is the Kitsune and Keaton is the Wolfskin.

Yeah, I see what you mean. Unfortunately since the ban criteria would only be stored somewhere server-side, the only way to find out if this gets you banned would be if someone gets banned doing it, and even then it would be hard to know if they hadn't been doing something else actually ban-worthy. To be safe, maybe avoid pairings that result in potentially problematic offspring combos if you're gonna play online? Tbh I'm only planning on having one child-resulting gay pairing (corrin), the men in my game get to either be straight or alone cuz I don't want to have to bother hex-editing to fix the sibling thing for every one of them.

I actually ask because I already got banned, and the only thing I could figure that could be causing it is that I had Kaden!Asugi as a Kitsune on my streetpass team. And I'm struggling to test if removing Asugi as a Kitsune will unban me because 1) supposedly the extra beast class offense causes a permanent ban and 2) even if it doesn't, Asugi seems to be weirdly resisting all my attempts to reclass or remove him

I don't know who to marry with whom...nor who to marry my avatar with (Felicia? Azura? Silas? Kaze? Someone else)...In Awakening I married Chrom because he was the second protagonist and for the rest I blindly followed a list of optimal marriages but in Birthright I have no idea...I'm basically playing the game blind and have no idea of optimal pairings or even reclassing...help please? :shy:

I've been following along with the Youtube video provided, and I've run into a problem. The child paralogues folder said to just replace the current game data .bin file with that one, and I did. Whenever I try to extract the romfs_ folder with the provided RomFS Builder, it builds for a minute before stating that (after saying the step 'computing IVFC {the other text is blocked by textboxes}') 'RomFS Builder has stopped working', with another box in front of that stating 'Do you want to send more information about the problem?'. Should I replace the GameData with the original and do the longer child paralogues steps? Or did I make an error sometime before?

Marry whoever you like (which I realize isn't very good advice bc everyone's attractive. Oh well.) As for other pairings, you can do a bit of support grinding and see which pairings you find cute together. You don't need to worry about optimization in Birthright, the game is pretty dang easy as it is. Generally speaking though, it's a good idea to pair physical units with each other (that is, units that attack using their strength stat/units with a high strength stat) and to pair magic units (ditto) together. Also, the royals are pretty much guranteed to get you strong kids.

Never mind, figured out my problem this morning. But now my Awakening game is normal when I HANS load it, with no hacks, and my Fates (Conquest) game just shows a light green 'checking data' screen, and everything goes black. Yeah...I'm really struggling.

@Cyber Blast Make sure that the number your RomFS is named is the Last 8 numbers of that whole string it spits out originally. Just delete all but the last 8 characters, and that should work. The video guide's a bit misleading as they don't tell you that. <3 Hope that helps!

edit: Wow I suck at spelling. Jeez.

Hi, I'm a complete noob to 3ds modding, but have been looking into PC-based 3ds emulation lately. Is it possible to install this mod into a rom and run it on Citra, or another emulator?
