make sure you have updated a9lh v2 intalled your 3ds. you can dowload this update files from Aurora's a9lh fork. it's called "pre-compiled".Oh I am sorry for being somewhat impatient.

I give up in the meantime.
It still boots with the SD normally and all, so maybe I will wait until an official release to see if my O3DS can update its A9LH to boot without the SD.

Is there any reason why the latest compiled payloads (merged inits/no SD) for your a9lh isn't working on my O3DS? Particularly the No-SD function.

after that you have to update your a9lh again to "nosd" version. as far as i know this update files are not compiled yet. so you have to conpile these files on yourself.

For showing people, what the fuck else would you take screenshots for? That being said, is there a way to do so after following the palatect or w/e guide now that I'm on Luma3DS? I need screenshots, and I would prefer them to be uncompressed PNG files on the SD card. How do I do this?

Does that mean I have to stop using Luma3DS? I have Luma3DS but I don't know how to switch between cfw. Is there a guide? I'll drop Luma for another CFW if it means I can take screenshots. I don't really care what features it has besides that.

I'm on 11U, just not on the latest Luma3DS (because I can't figure out how to update luma itself other than setting the updates thing to nightly or w/e)
I don't have a particular need for cheats, screenshots or CPU overclock.
It's not a critique of NTR, I just personally do not need it.
Don't use nightlies (or hourlies or whatever), they are mainly for power users. Just stick with official releases (so being on Luma 5.5 is enough).
First, keep in mind that Luma3DS is a ReiNAND fork, so it's just natural that they are so similar. You won't "see" visual differences (except from Luma's config menu) as that it not a CFW's goal (in the actual scene state at least).
There are a few features that Luma has and ReiNAND does not AFAIK, including at least those: per-game language and region emulation, reboot patch for O3DS, payload chain-loading for A9LH, New 3DS clock-speed choice.
I won't explain those in details because they are explained in both the links I provided, so you can read about them (and probably more differences that I didn't mention) there if interested.
Summarising a CFW's goal to "play pirate games" is what you'd do if you were talking about ReiNAND. Luma aims to provide a bit more than just that.
TL;DR: there are differences, the sticky thread I linked explains which CFW does what in a way that is enough to see that.
