So I formatted it, but everything was on my sd card after the format? I just couldn't see the games that I installed before the format on my home menu. Logging in with my NNID worked , so now injecting back the nand backup.

Logging in inte shop worked, but I can't see my installed CIA's after putting back the backup? How can I do that?

the only thing that formatting in emunand removes is content in the Nintendo 3ds/randomletters and numbers folder that corresponds to your emunand.
which is why i told you to back up said nintendo 3ds folder and to put it back on the sd after the format.
you should be able to copy everything back over, overwriting existing files in the process.

Hi, just created an account for some help. ItsVoid already asked it for me, but he got no response. I have walked through this guide (https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-installing-rxtools-custom-firmware-3ds-and-2ds.390867/) Everything boots up, with the Menuhax and CTRBOOTmanager. It starts up rxTools as well, but after the blue screen of rxTools, where it tries to load emuNAND, I get an official Nintendo error. (Photo: https://snapr.pw/i/013f216136.png). Everything works fine except for that! I don't want to do the whole tutorial again, so anyone who knows what to do?

I think you installed it wrong.

that seems to be an unusual error and it could be caused by any number of things, a missing file, a badly set up emunand, a wrong version of rxtools (its apparently fickle and switching to a different version could help)
did you use firm.py to download firmware.bin file (or randomly numbered files, depending on rxtools version) and put them in the folder the short guide in the rxtools download told you to put them?

are you sure you're on 9.2 firmware on sysnand/can you enter sysnand?
did you set up an emunand partition on your sd card? (is it about 1gb smaller than it usually was?)

I slightly punched it with my elbow from the table :|

yes, you pretty much should have garbage data now. check emunand>system settings > data management for whatever you installed and see if you can just remove it.

yeah I copied everything back, but the pictograms won't show. So I just installed them again and it's still the same space. And thank you again! I needed the shop entry for the MEW giveaway

just to get everything right, you have not been able to enter emunand at all so far?
but you can still enter sysnand (by not triggering menuhax) and sysnand is on firmware 9.2? (check in system settings)

well, to be honest, i'd try different versions of rxtools first. remove the rxtools folder from your sd cards root before putting a new rxtools version on it. and make sure to get the firmware.bin files again and put them in the right folders (firmware.bin goes into the rxtools folder while later, firm.py creates a bunch of files that, go into a firm folder in the rxtools folder)

if that doesn't work, first backup your whole sd card to a folder on your pc, start homebrewloader (either through ctr if it is set up for it, or by replacing the current boot.3dsx file from the bootmanager with smeas boot.3dsx file for homebrew loader.) and then use emunand9 to make a new emunand.
afterwards, put your backed up files back on sd and try again

Will the emuNAND on CFW like reiNAND always work with newer firmware releases, or do they need to get patched? I'm not talking about sysNAND.

Hi,

I'm trying to install reiNand on my new 3DS.
It seems launching correctly ctrBootManager but for some reason it stucks on a black screen right after pushing start.

New 3DSxl sysnand 9.2 , emunand 10.5

What is the reiNand version that works on my 3DS ?

EDIT : this thread helped me
https://gbatemp.net/threads/reinand-10-3-n3ds.410186/

I was probably using firmware / files from differents versions.

A friend of mine got a 32gb microSD with SD card adapter so he could have extra space for when he downgrades his o3DS and installs CFW.

Unfortunately, he doesn't have a regular SD card reader for his PC, only a microSD one.
Is there any way he can transfer his data off the old SD card without using a reader? The only ways I thought of would be somehow running FTP and transferring the files elsewhere, or performing a system transfer to another 3DS with the new sd card in it, but I think that would make him update his 3DS first...

It's not really a problem since he's happy to shell out like $5 for a reader but if we can save him the hassle it'd be good.

I have done everything from 0 again. Got everything working now! rxTools, Homebrew and customs themes etc. Thanks!

I have an easy question. I haven't been around in quite some time. I have the 3DSXL version 4.5 or something. I also have the gateway version when cheats support was first up for downloading. Is there anything I should know before updating to the latest version? Do I still just replace the launcher.dat file?

Been a few weeks since I last checked things out.

So, is it safe to update ReiNand, Cakes, and rXTools to 10.5 from 9.2?
Also, is it safe to play all cia roms online with 10.5, assuming that's the newest FW?
Thank you.

Yes, you can update your emuNAND to 10.5(ReiNand, Cakes and RxTools, support it now). You can play online on an updated emuNAND :)
