No... looks like both the .nds and the .bin have different hashes now, as you would expect.
Do me a favor:
Do git clone --recursive https://github.com/roxas75/rxTools.git look at the hash it displays in the output for CakesROP and it will say b14debb bla bla bla
Now, compare rxinstaller.nds (after compiling rxtools), to the one from the 3.0 beta from 3 days ago.
They will be identical

Just shut up already with that crap. It has region free. I play a Japanese game on mine every day. As (obviously) a few posts before yours (so I'm not the only one).
this is the first time i'm going to be swearing in this forum.

SHOW US SOME PROOF YOU FUCKING TWAT, INCLUDE WHAT COMMIT YOU USED IN THAT FUCKING VIDEO TOO.

i said n3DS, not o3DS. make a video without launching FMP/NTR/RFP on n3DS and launch a cartridge from a fucking different region. i'm pretty sure you're a fucking petty rxTools fanboy. get out of your fucking high horse.

I REPEAT. rxTools for n3DS DOES NOT have region free.

Why are you arguing about CFWs in the rxTools thread?

If you love ReiNAND or CakesFW just go to their respective threads and say thanks to their developers. You don't have to promote your favourite CFW as the best one everywhere, and even less in the thread of another CFW.

PS: Cakes FTW (?)

Nobody said anything about cartriges. It plays .CIA dumps of other region Cartridges just fine.

Again, you can see yourself out and go live in the ReiNand thread.

alright, let's rephrase that.

LAUNCH A ruddy CLEAN CIA. NO REGION FREE PATCHES, NO CRYPTOFIX. GO MAKE THAT fluffy VIDEO NOW. I'M WAITING.

I checked both, rxinstaller.nds and rxinstaller.bin.
Anyways, let's forget about it
@Pacman` Hahahahaha! Just figured it out. The problem was with Windows builds. My hashes are different now from 3 days ago. The ones on Lavanoid are the same. The commit in motezazer's GitHub even states that the fix was exactly that :P

You don't need proof to see that rxTools has region-free patches on the n3DS. Just try it yourself.
Hell, the only reason I haven't switched to ReiNand is that I require the region-free patches... half of my Japanese CIAs disappear if I'm not using rxTools because those CIAs weren't region-patched.

@Krakatau I had @wurstpistole blocked, and apparently it blocks even quotes, but not posts that are doing the quoting.

My bad...

AND since I unblocked him, @wurstpistole, if you want to run DS crap from emunand so bad, there is a pre-patched TWL_FIRM for N3DS that you can install. With that, you can at least play them from sysnand (including hacks and whatever).

is that a CLEAN rom? what commit did you use?
Why do you need to swear?
go a few posts back and see why. 100% of my japanese roms including cartridges don't work with rxTools, and other people are also confirming that. only you and @urherenow are the ones confirming that it is. which commit of rxTools are you using?

Latest. Always. And in the past 2 or 3 pages, at least 3 people have said it is region free. Your .cia files are jacked up. If you made them yourself, try a different tool. If you downloaded them, then your milage may vary.

And no, my game isn't a patched CIA. I borrowed it and made the dump myself. (I LIVE in Japan).

i'm having the exact same issue as these people: http://gbatemp.net/threads/release-...olkit-fw-2-0-9-2.382782/page-883#post-6065326

i'm using the 51703e4 commit and i have that same issue that those people are talking about. and as for latest, i'm assuming you're using 55d2622 which was released approximately a day ago?
Latest was released a few hours ago. And it doesn't matter. It has ALWAYS been region free. Your build simply updated N3DS emunand.

In reference to the page you linked:
"Can't boot this card game" <- You need FMP for a cartridge. Cry me a river. If you have a .cia that gives that message then it was made wrong. Someone is using a custom .rsf that is telling the system to boot your game (installed on your SD) from the cart slot. (Just guessing here)

the fact that it doesn't work for everyone, and eventually get the same errors doesn't make full sense that it's "region free". i'm just going to assume that the new nightly builds have fixed the issue and i'll call it a day. i've only used the github releases and i'm not aware on how stable the nightlies are.

you know what, i just installed that latest nightly (934d1a3) right now, and it did fix the issue. so it WAS an rxTools bug, not a butchered .cia. the game in question is MHX with the v10 patch.

I've seen some people saying that rxTools has less features than other cfws... so I updated the first post's feature list. Here you go ;)

NATIVE FIRM:
  • Full and free EmuNAND support, up to the latest version, 10.5, also on n3ds!
  • Access to the eShop and to online playing (requires an updated emuNAND)
  • Support for 100% of the games (newer ones will require emuNAND)
  • Support for sysNAND, in case an emuNAND is not found
  • Signatures Checks disabled
  • Dynamic ram dumping (just for debug purpouses)
  • RX-E / S string patch in settings
  • PastaMode, for Signatures Check free, but clean, sysNAND
  • Reboot patch, for using SSBB and MH4 on o3ds
  • Exceptions handler (just for debug purposes)
  • AGB (GBA Virtual Console) Support, wip on n3ds
  • TWL (DSiWare/DS Cardriges) Support, wip on n3ds
  • Region free on both o3ds and n3ds
TWL FIRM:
  • Cartridge blacklist check disabled
  • Cartridge save type check disabled
  • DSi cartridge save file exploit check disabled
  • Nintendo logo check patch
  • SHA hashes check patched, always succeeds
  • Whitelist check disabled
  • Signatures Check disabled
AGB FIRM:
  • Signatures Check disabled
Is this enough? :)

It boggles the mind how there can be fighting/fanboism between firmware users on the same system.

That's some serious first world shit right there.

Since we are all using the same system (we could have a fight 3DS x New DS x 2DS, or even regular vs XL!) this is the only thing they can fight about.
